We stayed in all afternoon as they had given us a six hour delivery window. We needed to go out in the evening, so at 6pm I rang to find out where the stuff was. After waiting for more than 15 mins, was automatically bounced out of the phone system because "they cannot provide more detail on delivery times".
Tried email - someone came back to me. I explained that we needed to go out (by now it was 6.30) and that they would need to rechedule the delivery. Agent had no way of contacting the delivery people (have the heard of mobile phones ?)They did however agree to refund teh delivery charge.
Someone else rang back a few minutes later - obviously hadn't had any of my info passed on, so I had to go through it all again.The agent couldn't see why I was annoyed by this ! He said they might still deliver, I said I was going out, none of my neighbours would be able to take delivery and there was nowhere secure to leave the stuff if it was delivered while we were out. Reiterated that I wanted the delivery rescheduled. Asked to speak to a maanger, there was no-one available (no wonder the whole operation is out of control !)
Arrived back to discover the delivery had been dumped on my doorstep while we were out. Will not use Argos again !
