I totally agree that it depends on the quality of instructor. I had my child at Queen Mothers Sports Centre, but was not impressed with the quality of teaching for the price I was paying. Moreover, he wasn't turning up on time, and continually late. However, maybe it was bad luck, and another day I could of got a good coach.

My baby was booked in at Aquilla for the baby swim courses, and I agree the teaching was very poor, and not value for money. The water is warm, but the air temperature is freezing. The maintenance guy told me that the air conditioning pool side cannot be turned off. Also be careful of the underwater ledge running around the pool, because I nearly slipped taking my baby into the side.
