General Comments
Jeremy Clarkson, The World According To Clarkson is a great read and is an ideal book to read whilst one is relaxing by the swimming pool or even taking a dump on the lavatory. This book is probably the ultimate easy read as it is simply a collection of articles that the Top Gear host has written for the Sunday Times. As this book is a collection of articles it is very easy to pick up and put down again as the average article lasts for two pages.
Clarkson has a straight forward, yet very funny, writing style and I must confess this fine read had me in stiches on many occasion. He takes in a variety of subjects in the many articles including fox shooting, a suspicion of all men bearded, a fondness for the Germans, technology, his younger days at the Rotheram Advertiser and a variety of other topics. Each article is an amusing anecdote on modern life and while the book probably contains nothing particularly profound, it is an hilarious read with some well made arguments that you can antagonise environmentalists, liberals and The Beards with.
Final verdict? Cracking stuff and exceptionally funny.
