Good Points
Waterpfoof ink performed vey well on outdoor posters.
Bad Points
Poor colour rendering of reds and orange.
Limited head life - extended warantee vital! - and run a test photo regularly to keep the ink flowing.
General Comments
This Epson Stylus C82 Inkjet printer died after only 18 months use. The nozzles seized up and were unable to be cleared by the normal head cleaning procedure. Epson were quick to respond via email, but could only suggest a specialist repair to replace the head.
This is the second time we have been let down by Epson - our Colour Stylus 900 also died after 18 months useage. In both cases the failure occurred after replacing a cartridge (£50 for the C82 set)
Our local Computer Shop says Epson heads are unsuitable to light domestic usage and have a tendency to clog. They suggest Canon or HP. HP has a distinct advantage in that a replacement cartridge includes a new head (still cheaper than Epson), so the problem can't arise. On the other hand, Canon cartridges are cheaper.
If you want the waterproof ink and don't need true colours you need Epson, but make sure you use the printer regularly (all the clours), and take out an extended warantee (Argos has a new for old warantee at a good price)
