“Review is generally good, but the Sansui VRDVD4005...”

Good Points
The picture looks fine when it plays & pre-recorded discs seem to work well, and it is easy to use, once you determine it's operation.

Bad Points
There is no place to ask a tech question for Sansui. The Tech Guy site had no respondents with an answer to my inquiry. The dilemma is, when a disc is recorded, it plays fine when I test to see if it came out properly. BUT THEN, when I put the disc back into the machine the next day or at a future time, it reads "Incorrect Disc" OR it never stops trying to read (Reading)- which it usually can't do a second time, AND if you press "record", to fill the rest of the disc beyond the half hour or so that was recorded, a window comes on saying "CANNOT RECORD C-204". You also can't finalize, since it won't point on that line if the machine can't read the disc. This is frustrating! This has rendered 2 thirds of the discs I used to be tossed in the trash. They are not cheap & to have disposed of 100 discs out of the 150 discs is aggravating. It occurs with all brands of discs & not limited to only the cheapies.
This is a serious bad point. Also, the system should not simply say the obvious, such as telling a disc won't play; It should indicated why a situation is occurring & not only mention the obvious, as the manual does. The booklet says when it reads "Incorrect Disc" for example, that means a disc can't be read & we say "No Kidding!" It never indicates why it never works again after the first day, despite hundreds of re-insertions.

General Comments
Review is generally good, but the Sansui VRDVD4005 system clearly has a lot of bugs, which are costly to the consumer (See Bad Points).
