Good Points
Great sound quality, good looks, everyone at work or school will love it...

Bad Points
...until it breaks, which it does all too often. Price nudges it uncomfortably close to iPod Video.

General Comments
I got an iPod Nano about two months ago now and was impressed straight away. Came with all the stuff you needed to start off with it, could have come with an extensioner for the headphone lead but apart from that, no complaints. You get a lead for the pc so that you can transfer the iTunes music straight away over to the Nano, but this is a bit fiddly, however, I am not willing to pay nearly twenty quid for a Dock. You also get the trademark Apple headphones, however, these only come in white, which means that you look a bit of a plonker with a black nano and white headphones. They take a bit of getting used to as well but they're okay. However, I would recommend getting Sony headphones, cannot remember the exact product but I bought them for twenty or so pounds and they block out the outside sound, which the standard Nano headphones don't and are worth investing in.

However, as ever the cracks started to show after around three weeks of fairly easy use, where I had been supremely careful with it, considering that all the other reviews I had read had said that they had problems with the screen cracking too easily. I solved that problem by getting a protective case for it, which seems to have done the trick. However, I had other problems which involved the connection between pc and nano. When I put it in it as usual said the words 'Do Not Disconnect'. Fair enough. But then it never stopped saying that and iTunes failed to recognise that the Nano was actually attatched to the pc! Had to eventually disconnect the Nano, and of course, it then jammed. Eventually found cause of the problem but only after a long search on the internet where I found that you had to hold down the centre button to get it to unjam. Battery is has a rather poor battery life considering the time that Apple says that it will run for, I think that Apple say that it runs for 12 hrs, most I have got it to is 8 and a half!

Great looks are a bonus, as said, and sound quality is great but I am not sure whether this is worth what you get. A cheaper MP3 player may be better, but if you must have the image, the Nano is a great MP3 player as long as you are willing to live with the faults.
