Our Brittany, Scout, has had both a training stay and regular boarding visits to Royvon over the past 18 months and we are very happy with their service.
An international move and some complicated circumstances had left us with a young dog who, while loving and gentle, was a bit unruly and so he went to stay at Royvon for 3 weeks to learn some manners from the fantastic Terry! I had tried a few other trainers in my local area without success, but Terry really understood Scout, and worked wonders with him. The training sessions I then had with Terry were so helpful and have stood me in good stead to carry on working with my dog on my own. I know that some people don't approve of sending a dog for training in this way, but it worked brilliantly for us. My own lack of confidence as a handler was part of the problem, and so getting Scout to solve his problems with someone really experienced before I then learned the dos and don'ts helped enormously.
Since then we have used Royvon for our usual boarding and have had excellent service . They have been able to accomodate unexpected changes of plan at such short notice on two occasions. We live in south east England and have sometimes used the shuttle service to and from Esher which is incredibly convenient and I have been impressed with the staff there, at drop off and pick up, particularly on recent visits with a new computer system and check in procedure in operation. We travel to and from South Wales quite often and I have, on several occasions, seen the Royvon van stopped at a service station with the staff tending to the dogs with care - very reassuring. Most of all though I love picking Scout up from Merthyr Tydfil and seeing Terry working him out in the paddock - they both look as though they're having a great time! When I drop him off at Merthyr Scout is always delighted to arrive and the staff are happy to see him - you can't fake that level of engagement!
I like the flexibility of being able to combine Boarding Plus, some training and some Play All Day - I know that there is lots of variety and my dog won't be bored or shut in for long periods.
Until we moved to the UK Scout had never boarded anywhere other than with his breeder, and so choosing a kennel who would offer that level of care and love was really important for us. After his initial training with Terry he has just come on in leaps and bounds: he is such a happy dog and so much more manageable than he was when he first visited 18 months ago. Although we miss him when we go away it is so reassuring to know that he is somewhere happy and fun with people who like him as much as we do!
