The special effects were wonderful. The down points: In Twilight all the vampires have black eyes, we infer they turn gold when they eat and Edward's change off and on. In New Moon all the Cullens have bright gold eyes all the time which is frankly distracting and detracts from their great vampire looks. Especially giving Alice a frightening look rather than the sweet Alice we saw in the first film. Also Alice is supposed to be short and petite. They accomplished this illusion in Twilight. In New Moon she's as tall or taller than Kristen. These two things were bothersome enough to just 'bug' me the whole time I was watching.

However, they managed to capture the magnitude and size of the wolves in a very real way and also the love that Jacob and Bella feel for each other. Including the huge void Edward leaves behind. The Volturi scene, I felt, deterred from the book too much. I'm hoping in Eclipse they use those gold contacts sparingly. I doubt it though, if the same director is used. When it comes out on DVD I will buy it and I will watch it over and over again like I have Twilight, but could it be that Twilight will end up being the best of all four movies??

And Taylor Lautner was wonderful and I'm glad they stuck with him. He rocks.
