I bought the Eckman extendable hedge trimmer and lopper kit from Technologyinthehome and am regretting the purchase. The equipment is about what you'd expect for the money but in my case, I've been waiting over five weeks for a spare part. The plastic cover holding the chain in place shattered on second use. The helpline were very helpful and said they'd dispatch a replacement but five weeks, numerous calls and email, I'm still waiting. The call centre staff will say the part will be dispatched "tomorrow, yesterday, whatever" but after waiting a week and calling again you find that nothing happened. I guess the merchandise is fine if nothing goes wrong but oh dear, if you need to contact them, watch out. I guess my only recourse now is to start a formal complain which is totally over the top for a small plastic cover. I will not be buying anything from them in future and would discourage anyone else from doing so. Go the B & Q and the like. At least it's easier to take it back when you've a problem.
