Good Points
Evidently super fast network & hosts -- decent tools -- straighforward setup
Bad Points
Default smtp server has been blacklisted by some ISPs -- bizarre, but fortunately rare, outages -- uneven staff service
General Comments
I've been a Host Dime reseller for about 8 months and overall it's a great deal for the money.
Only two glitches so far:
1. When I first got set up at HostDime, the outgoing mail went through an SMTP server that a popular local ISP (sympatico.ca) had blacklisted--so no mail was being forwarded to them. This was a huge problem since many of my customer have accounts there or need to forward E-mails there. After a week of trouble-tickets I was about to cancel my account when an apparently senior techie took my problem seriously and moved me to an obscure SMTP server. It's been perfect ever since.
2. About a month after I started with Host Dime, all my reseller accounts could suddenly no longer connect to their own MySQL DBs. Then, mysteriously, it all came back as if nothing had happened. The response to my urgent trouble tickets was something like "glad so see your sites are back up", which did nothing to explain what had happened. Since then, no problems so they seem to have resolved the underlying cause, whatever it is.
My overall impression: good service and value but expect the unexpected one in a while.
