General Comments
BSA Scorpion .177 is my first 'real' air pistol. A friend of my father's had one and brought it to the local gun club for me to try when I was 10. I was duly impressed, both by its looks and performance. I simply had to have one, and so received a heavy, white box on my 12th Christmas (1988). I shot that Scorpion thousands of times and never had an issue with it. The sights were quickly replaced by various scopes and the sparrows only had less certainty to look forward to. I did feel that my Scorpion was underpowered compared to the one I had initially tried out. This feeling was born out when I purchased the original from its owner a few years ago. My model can only manage about 410 FPS over the chronograph, whereas his is consistently in the 620 FPS range( built in 1979). No matter, I have both at my disposal and truly cherish them. I fully expect to pass them along to nephews at some point.
