We purchased a Maytag Neptune Washer 5 months ago at Sears thinking it was a quality product because of the Maytag name. The washer has now stopped spinning. I called the repair number on the warranty information, and was told it would take 2 weeks before they could send out a repairman. A local repairman that works on Maytag knew immediately what the problem was, particularly since they have had so many complaints about the Neptune machines. They suggested we not get the machine repaired but try to get our money back. Sears will take back the washer, but will charge us a 30% inventory fee. I believe at this point it is worth the loss of $$ since we have decided we do not want to be stuck with a lemon after warranty is out. So much for the Maytag name!
