“I can not believe no one has reviewed this Laguna Mar,...”

written by pedroskiukuk on 06/06/2009

Good Points
Brilliant hotel, food and staff good, internal transport around the complex. It goes on and on.

Bad Points
No balconies..........well not many, and some of the rooms were in need of a refurb a bit dated and tired. But still clean and perfectly OK for sleeping in.

General Comments
I can not believe no one has reviewed this Laguna Mar, it's a superb hotel..

The hotel is very spread out, and based in 2 buildings (which are ver similar) North and south tower.
But not to worry as 2-3 shuttle busses run around the vast complex from about 7am till 2am.

The food is very good, I have a gluten intolerance and managed to find plenty to eat.
There are several restutants to choose from, although I have not been for 2 years and I belive they have chyanged slightly.
There is no ( I am led to beliebe) 1 buffet resturant in each tower serving breakfats, lunch and dinner, There is also a resturant on the beach a grill serving fish steak pork chops salad etc. etc. Savadores near the main pool serving pizza chicken in a basket etc. etc. both from lunch till early evening. And 2 a la carts one Mexican and one Italian. All are excelent.
The staff are the most helpful and friendliest I have come across in the Carribean or Europe.
The only reason I have market the hotel down one point is because very few rooms have balcony's and some could do with a refurb. That was when we last went in 2008.
We were supposed to go in March this year but we had to cancel when my husband fell and broke heis ankle about 3 weeks before we were due to leave :(
And all hopes of going back there next year (or eeeven later this year) have been dashed. As First Choice were the only tour operators doing Margarita and they have stopped doing it.
So I am VERY dissapointed!
Margarita is out of the hurricane zone so IF you can get there feel free to go at any time.
