“travelled to lapland last weekend with transun. We...”

written by on 16/12/2010

travelled to lapland last weekend with transun. We were unable to laand at designated airport and when we landed, a local ski resort rep put us all on buses and we were then driven 250km -2.5 hours more in a coach. By the time we arrived at the resort it was 5.30, pitch black and minus 35! There was no organisation and with so little time, queues were forming and believe me you do not want to queue in those temperatures with children! the huskies were worn out and we didn't get to have a sleigh ride or snowmobile. I had to virtually fight to get on sleigh for santa. he didn't know my daughter's name or wish list. she just cried and asked to go home. another coach journey of 2.5 hours to a plane that wouldn't start. Thomson, the airline, then stepped in and provided accommodation and food in a local ski resort. we didn't see a transun rep until the following evening when we were boarding the plane. this was a day trip from hell. My daughter is 5 and the magic of santa has been ruined for her. I travelled with a friend also who had experienced a real good transun santa resort some years ago but evidently they have cut costs and this resort was nowhere near as good. the brochure describes it as uncomercialised- i would say tacky! santa even had a car parked outside his shed! whoever made the decision in transun to send us on that coach clearly doesn't have children. my daughter has been ill since we came back. the bbc were even waiting for us when we arrived in cardiff and we will be complaining bitterly about the day- don't book!!!! we wasted £1000 and it's not worth the memories of a crying child.i had to click on 1 star to get this online
