I read reviews before I went and thought 'oh no!' what have I done!
However, despite missing ports, force 10 gales and leaving passengers on Lanzarote, it was brilliant.
There were a fair number of whingers on board but the bottom line is you get what you pay for. My mum and brother go on the Aurora - I don't! I go on package holidays and in that context this was great. The food, entertainment and staff were fantastic. My children (who have spent their last two holidays in Disney, Orlando) loved it and it made for a really happy family holiday.
Also, never mind the travel sickness tablets, vast quantities of 'all inclusive' G&T's will get you through the storms!
Finally, as the (rather lovely) captain said 'you can't fight the nature'!! The canaries in winter are never going to be predicatable and at least we were not in Madeira a few days later than we were.
If you are booked on this don't worry - enjoy! (and look out for Mary in the deck 7 bar)
