Good Points
None that I could find
Bad Points
Toilet facilities were portaloos. Thought the campsite was filthy. Some campers could be drunk and abusive. Over crowding.
General Comments
I booked in advance to stay at the Cranstar Trevelgue Holiday Campsite in Newquay. Instead I was told to book into Cranstar Smugglers Haven, the adjacent campsite as I was not a "family" group. It was never mentioned that this campsite was in fact doubling as overflow for a festival on at the same time. I was directed to a mud churned field with tents placed literally on top of each other. The "excellent" facilities I had been promised were in fact overflowing portaloos.
The campsite was full of rowdy teenagers/young people there for the festival. No problem with that if it had been advertised as a festival campsite, but it wasn't. Speaking to other people on the site they said that they felt their belongings, cars, and even themselves were not safe and having looked round the site I agreed.
I had to wait for over an hour in reception to see a manager, who told me it was that field or nothing. I then had to try to find B and B accommodation for 8 people. 5 days later I am still waiting for a return to my many phone calls (the person who can authorise refunds has mysteriously been unavailable for this whole time), emails, and a refund!
