I've been using NatWest's online banking service pretty much since it started and have to say I have always found it suits me very well indeed.
It's easy to check my balance, download statements and make transfers or payments to third parties.
They provide you with a gizmo to use in conjunction with your debit card to generate a code for validating your identity when doing anything like paying money to a new counterparty and I found that very straightforward to use although you do need to have it on you if you need to do anything like that when away from home.
I don't have an iPhone but the app for that works well with my iPod Touch when in range of a wireless network and I understand it is also available on a good range of phones.
