What a total nightmare. We have just returned from our holiday with OTB after getting stuck in the Volcanic Ash disruption. Our flight was delayed and we ended up staying an extra 9 days. We receive no contact from the company whatsoever. Friends and family tried to ring them for days but couldn't get through. Can't believe there's no email address to contact them at all. Appauling customer service.

Misleading website causing mis-sold holidays with little or no help from customer service apart from attempting to levy a 'admin' fee for any cancellations.

Beware of the 'no hold luggage included' scam, makes the flights look cheaper, you enter your credit card details and then it tells you that if you want to take hold luggage, it's an extortionate fee. i have just booked online for my family holiday and the same thing has happend it jumped up an extra 500 after i put in my card details i tried ringing and was told they had canceled it b4 i got confirmation email, they then sent the email 2 confirm i rang back was kept on phone 35minutes to be told the payment had gone through and i cud not cancel. im so upset this holiday was ment 2 b my honeymoon also as i get married the day before im due to fly, i dont undertand how this site works how we get tickets or anything the staff werent very helpfull...... could some1 please help by telling me how i get booked in and on my way :0(

had the same problem they wont do anything over the phone and you send emails and nothing ! lost £450 and im gutted ! we r a low income family trying to take the kids away and have been ripped off !!!! never will i used them again

I booked a flight and hotel through On the Beach in November for a June holiday. They produce a long list of flights with all departure and arrival times. I picked a Monarch flight to Kos from Gatwick. Departing at 0830 and leaving Kos at 1530 arriving back at LGW at 1730. There were cheaper flights even one departing at 1525 and arriving back at LGW at 0025, completly unsuitable for us with 2 children under 5. Dreadful..Unprofessional Company..Stay well away from them is my advise!

I paid On The Beach.com with my credit card for a Shuttle Transfer but youve guessed it never showed up. This cost me £26 .50 approx. altogeher.
I managed to get the return shuttle ok. So when I got home I wrote to OTB and after 3 months of letter writing they eventually agreed to give me back wit for it...not £13.25 but an AMAZING £3.20. They are full of unprofessionalism and just dont care a toss really about you. I… Read Full Review

Due the volcanic eruption on Iceland my flights came and went so when we got in touch with on the beach to see what they could do they wanted me to cancel the holiday so they could charge me cancellation charges also admin charges for not taking up the hotel booking, having contacted the hotel direct I found out that the hotel was not charging anything it was on the beaches provider charging them they in turn said they can pass all charges onto the customer not right considering it was all due… Read Full Review

I have just shared one of the most stressful weeks with my parents due to OTB holidays! OK the volcanic erruption could not be helped but the customer service from this company has been no less than diabolical. Learning their flights had been cancelled, I rung up to deal with OTB as they had made accommodation arrangements with them for an apartment in Portugal. I spoke to a lady who told us that they had a dedicated team to deal with ALL situations resulting from this incident and that she would pass on the details we had given to them and they would ring us and confirm the CHANGE OF DATES for the booking. We had managed to change flights to a later date and all we wanted to do was make the reservation for the week after! The lady said it should not be a problem and that my parents may incurr an amendment fee but it all depended on the hotel. She said the hotels have been delaying confirmation on changes and that they would get in touch as soon as they could to confirm the booking. We contacted the hotel directly (after staing with tme last year we knew who we were dealing with) and explained to them the situation. The hoteliers were fantastic and said no problem and that they would amend the booking as soon as thay had heard from OTB. Well the day before departure my parents still had not heard from OTB, so I telephoned again! 10p a minute! Once through we were told that the booking had been cancelled by OTB and a refund would be made in 7-10 days (minus cancellation fees). Nice of them to tell us this eh?
<br/>So my parents have to pay a fee resulting OTB making the cancellation! Charming, they have taken advantage of the general public at this unfortunate time. No further bookings will ever be made via this company again, if you know what is good for you you would avoid them too. Book direct with apartments and hoteliers, play it safe!

We have had nothing but problems with the 'On the Beach' and would not recommend them. We booked B&B accomodation and were sent a confirmation saying Self Catering and after numerous emails and calls they refuse to believe the booking is an error. They said we'd have to pay even more to 'upgrade' when in fact they just needed to rectify their own mistake, that they refused to admit. To upgrade you have to first give them your card details before they tell you how much an upgrade is, no way I am… Read Full Review

I have had a very poor experiance with on the beach holidays, firstly they tried to overcharge my credit card, then they rang me after the booking to tell me the holiday was sold out and that the new holiday was to going to be more expensive...

When i refused to pay they said i had booked the flights and there would be cancelation charges... This site does no offer online booking yest you assume it does, i have also passed my concerns to trading standards...

We used on the beach.com for a holiday to Sharm el Sheik in 2008. They were efficient, reliable, helpful and our holiday was great with no problems at all. I would recommend them, and in fact I have recommended them many times. I would use them again. My wife, daughter and myself recently booked a week in Lanzarote using the above company.

When we arrived to book in with our airline Jet2 we were surprised to find that our arrangements did not include our suitcases travelling with us.

We had to pay an additional £150 which included a penalty for a late change. The Jet2 staff told us that this happens "quite a lot" and advised us to contact On the Beach on our return.

We have just returned from a family holiday to Gumbet in Turkey. Gumbet resembles an area hit by an earthquake - apparently major changes are being made to the water system and many roads were impossible to negotiate. experineces of holding my 8 year old daughter's hand while she walked over a plank in order to cross a 2m trench will remain embedded in my memory. Because of the changes to the infrastructure nothing was open and the streets were deserted.

I booked a holiday with OTB and was pleased with the price. However, I was not happy that after I paid with my credit card and it was confirmed, I was than asked if I wanted to add luggage. It was too late for me to cancel the transaction and I therefore had to pay another £60 for the luggage. I have just read many revies of On The Beach.Well I have just handed over £1150 to go to Menorca. I will be going in May 2010 but so far I can not fault them.

I recived full e mail conformation with in 15 minutes all down loaded fine Baggage was extra as was transferes but total holiday cost for 13 nights half board family of 4 =£1150. Flying with TUI I could not get this price anywhere.

Booked flights and accommodation with onthebeach.com and have had nothing but stress since. They tell you that you can book baggage during the booking process, you can't. You have to phone them at 10p a minute to add the baggage at a premium cost. If you try to book baggage later you are also charged £30 admin fee. Flight extras, e.g. meals, seats can only be booked via their website at inflated prices plus another £30 admin fee. If I'd booked direct with flythomascook 4 meals would be £20… Read Full Review
