Booked a holiday with ON THE BEACH on 2/5/10 to greece. Arrived at aiport2 hours before check in and was informed check in was closed and ON THE BEACH had cancelled our tickets and the airline had sold our seats although we had confirmation of flights and hotel. Also had etickets sent to us for flights.No one at the agents desk helped, us just told us to ring ON THE BEACH that was 10 pence a minute.What a waste of money and time they could not do anything so we ended up no holiday. Was pulled in by the great price and although I had read all the postings on this site I thought I would risk it. I was anticipating price supplements and flight tickets not arriving, however the transaction could not have been smoother. No changes to original price, flight tickets for Thomas Cook airlines arrived by email on the next day! “The company are liers, they booked me into a hotel...”

The company are liers, they booked me into a hotel that is unsutable for me to take my 10yr old daughter.on the website it said great for families and with entertainment.it is a 18-30 hotel complaints on all review sites about noise and not suitable for children.they have also taken off entertainment on their website after i have booked.
Thay will NOT respond to letters, Emails or return phone calls.Staff on the phone dont want to give answers. all they keep asking for is more money to change… Read Full Review

“Third time I have booked through them for a holiday,...”

Third time I have booked through them for a holiday, the first went well, the second they changed our hotel at the last minute. This time they moved us to a Russian hotel that was not all inclusive but full board with an allowance of 4 drinks per person per night.

Looks like the bad reviews were correct I wont use them again. I complained to them but aas usual no responce. Good job I used my credit card to get a refund.

I found this review very helpful because... it reflects the very poor standard of "on the beach holidays or Otbeach" I have reported them to trading standards and would urge others to do so they are a disgrace..

Never use this comapany , When stranded in lanzerote dfue to the ash , they told me to contact the airline direct when we had the contract with otb not the airline direct . they said if you want use to rebook your return seats it would cost me £30 for them to ring them for me . when i emailed the airline monarch they said sorry you have to do it through your travel agent as they have the passwords to manage the flight booking .

Booked flight and hotel online for the whole family (2adults,2 kids)in Crete. Paid about £200 more to fly daytime with a better airline. A few weeks before departure they changed our flights to a night one with a much cheaper airline without any explanation or compensation!

Booked for August - read website very carefully and worked out that certain no frills flights incur additional baggage charges. Unusual in that when you confrim over the website it doesn't mean the holiay is definate until you receive their e-mail confirmation 24 hours later. I got a bit confused and then booked twice as I didn't think the first one had gone through - I rang and one was cancelled with no fuss. Twice in the one week I 'thought' i had booked a holiday with otb. However on both occasions they contacted me later the same day to advise i had placed an 'order' for a holiday, until confirmation received then the order is pending and is subject to change. On both occasions the holiday was going up in price by approx 400 pounds. Really disappointed with this company, to happen once was bad enough, but twice is ridiculous. What a total nightmare. We have just returned from our holiday with OTB after getting stuck in the Volcanic Ash disruption. Our flight was delayed and we ended up staying an extra 9 days. Appauling customer service.

Misleading website causing mis-sold holidays with little or no help from customer service apart from attempting to levy a 'admin' fee for any cancellations.

Beware of the 'no hold luggage included' scam, makes the flights look cheaper, you enter your credit card details and then it tells you that if you want to take hold luggage, it's an extortionate fee. i have just booked online for my family holiday and the same thing has happend it jumped up an extra 500 after i put in my card details i tried ringing and was told they had canceled it b4 i got confirmation email, they then sent the email 2 confirm i rang back was kept on phone 35minutes to be told the payment had gone through and i cud not cancel. im so upset this holiday was ment 2 b my honeymoon also as i get married the day before im due to fly, i dont undertand how this site works how we get tickets or anything the staff werent very helpfull...... could some1 please help by telling me how i get booked in and on my way :0(

had the same problem they wont do anything over the phone and you send emails and nothing ! lost £450 and im gutted ! we r a low income family trying to take the kids away and have been ripped off !!!! never will i used them again

I booked a flight and hotel through On the Beach in November for a June holiday. They produce a long list of flights with all departure and arrival times. I picked a Monarch flight to Kos from Gatwick. Departing at 0830 and leaving Kos at 1530 arriving back at LGW at 1730. There were cheaper flights even one departing at 1525 and arriving back at LGW at 0025, completly unsuitable for us with 2 children under 5. Dreadful..Unprofessional Company..Stay well away from them is my advise!

I paid On The Beach.com with my credit card for a Shuttle Transfer but youve guessed it never showed up. This cost me £26 .50 approx. altogeher.
I managed to get the return shuttle ok. So when I got home I wrote to OTB and after 3 months of letter writing they eventually agreed to give me back wit for it...not £13.25 but an AMAZING £3.20. They are full of unprofessionalism and just dont care a toss really about you. I… Read Full Review

I have just shared one of the most stressful weeks with my parents due to OTB holidays! OK the volcanic erruption could not be helped but the customer service from this company has been no less than diabolical. Learning their flights had been cancelled, I rung up to deal with OTB as they had made accommodation arrangements with them for an apartment in Portugal. I spoke to a lady who told us that they had a dedicated team to deal with ALL situations resulting from this incident and that she would pass on the details we had given to them and they would ring us and confirm the CHANGE OF DATES for the booking. We had managed to change flights to a later date and all we wanted to do was make the reservation for the week after! The lady said it should not be a problem and that my parents may incurr an amendment fee but it all depended on the hotel. She said the hotels have been delaying confirmation on changes and that they would get in touch as soon as they could to confirm the booking. We contacted the hotel directly (after staing with tme last year we knew who we were dealing with) and explained to them the situation. The hoteliers were fantastic and said no problem and that they would amend the booking as soon as thay had heard from OTB. Well the day before departure my parents still had not heard from OTB, so I telephoned again! 10p a minute! Once through we were told that the booking had been cancelled by OTB and a refund would be made in 7-10 days (minus cancellation fees). Nice of them to tell us this eh?
<br/>So my parents have to pay a fee resulting OTB making the cancellation! Charming, they have taken advantage of the general public at this unfortunate time. No further bookings will ever be made via this company again, if you know what is good for you you would avoid them too. Book direct with apartments and hoteliers, play it safe!

We have had nothing but problems with the 'On the Beach' and would not recommend them. We booked B&B accomodation and were sent a confirmation saying Self Catering and after numerous emails and calls they refuse to believe the booking is an error. They said we'd have to pay even more to 'upgrade' when in fact they just needed to rectify their own mistake, that they refused to admit.
