This Weihrauch HW77 air rifle is very powerful and so accurate that there is just one simple word for it, PERFECT!
It's also easy to handle and so strongly made. i have never had any problems with it and i have had it for over 10 years… Read Full Review

Having read your review & as a Hw77 owner, I would agree!
However 2 points: One assumes that you are an F.A.C holder as your rifle currently exceeds 12'/lb ! and that you are aware of the potential damage a .177 gas stut can do. The pressure exerted can blow seals and cause large damage to the piston chamber! The only reason is I explored the same avenue with a gunsmith. Happy shooting, but be warned

I agree with the above review, that keeping on top of maintenance is paramount for the HW77.
I DID loose the end of my right thumb in the breech of my mates "77 a few years back, and don't recommend the experience to anyone.
The final indignity was there was nothing to sew back on, as most of the pulp was shot out of the barrel.. i kid you not.
HOLD ON TO THAT UNDERLEVER!!

I bought this Weihrauch HW77 air gun second hand a couple of years or so ago and can't really fault it. Sure it's heavy but if you can cope with the weight it really is a super gun. I personally prefer fixed barrels to break barrel type guns. A spring gun may be a bit dated but if it shoots straight, and let's not kid ourselves this gun can, why pay shed loads of money for something else when this will do the job… Read Full Review

Even in .22 I found the Weirauch HW77 air gun to be amazingly accurate. EVERY creature I pointed this thing at and pulled the trigger would keel over dead. The famous Rekord trigger really is brilliant, totally predictable. the general quality of the gun seemed to be very high. If you get the chance to buy one of these (especially second hand, they may be overshadowed by other guns now, but are the new guns REALLY that much better?) then go for it… Read Full Review

Written on: 25/11/2001 by kris. (1 review written)

Have had a HW77 for about 15 months now. Have given it a full professional tuning though. Sitting, can group 5 shots into the size of a 5p at 30yds. Ofcourse, the gun could do the same prior to tuning, but now is more smoother to fire, by which I mean the 'twang'is very less. A new rifle is a bit twangy. Have heard that a HW77/97 is a bit rough out of the box compared to an Air Arms TX200, which could be true as I have a TX200 too. Overall, a good gun that could out shoot and out live me any… Read Full Review
