I have been buying mcvities biscuits for years now, and have never had any problems with packaging of condition of the biscuits on purchase. I have however noticed that the price of mcvities biscuits is increasing, which tends to make people go for the cheaper 'non-branded' products. As a long-term customer i will be staying loyal to mcvities, as long as the price stays affordable i have no complaints!… Read Full Review

I've just phoned McVities customer care line to report the following problems with their product - (and also referred them to this web page) -
What on earth has happened with McVities plain digestive biscuits?
For several months I have been finding higher and higher proportions of broken biscuits in packets. At first I put this down to the idiots the local shops employ as shelf stackers. However, packets bought more recently from large retailers have been just the same and this weekend was… Read Full Review

I say boycott the biscuits altogether until McVities listen. I have been eating and enjoying them until now for the past 20 years and have found the quality and taste steadily declining. I have sent my wife half mad asking her to shop at different outlets in an effort to find any of good quality. I have found that they vary in texture and colour, appear only half baked at times, and many are so broken i just feed them to the birds. As a child I used to buy broken biscuits for two pence - now I… Read Full Review

After eating delicious McVities Digestive biscuits all my life I can now only buy "New lowest Ever saturated fats-same Delicious Taste".....Wrong! The Trades Descriptions Act could be invoked here. They taste like a cross between longer baked Dog biscuits and ships Hard Tack. Where is the smooth, gently crumbing , rich tasting dunking biscuit of old? Blow the "Diet Police"--bring back all the lovely fats that made them so delicious PLEASE… Read Full Review

In reply to the previous reviewers comments, McVities have reduced the fat content of their digestive biscuits and in my opinion this has reduced the taste and made them much more fragile. This is the second fat reduction in two years but I think it is a mistake. They already produce a "light" version so why not give consumers the choice and bring back the old recipe… Read Full Review

We have been passionate consumers of McVitie's Digestive biscuits for years. Our house is seldom without a couple of packs (we always buy the twin pack). However, over recent months we have become concerned and disappointed by the high breakage level. Almost always, it seems nowadays, the first and last biscuit is broken - sometimes shattered - and frequently some further biscuits are damaged at the edges. Does anyone know why? Different packaging machinery? Less outer protection? Or more… Read Full Review

I was a big fan of Mcvities Digestivies until they decided to make the 'new lower saturated fat' version. I am all for healthy eating but not when it takes something away from the taste. The new version tastes abit like babies' biscuits, it's still crumbly but lost that full oaty/wheaty flavour, tastes too milky. Since the lower cal version exists anyway, please bring back the original for those of us who don't mind saturated fats every now and then!… Read Full Review

McVities Digestives are the best biscuits in the world. Hob nobs are good, but a chocolate digestive just does it.
They work equally well with Tea or Coffee, or as a odd treat. But it is really in conjunction with the aforementioned beverages that this biscuit comes into its own.
Also you occasionally get offers (bogof or 1/2 price) on these in various food outlets.
Sublime! one of the best reasons to stick to the UK!… Read Full Review

Is there anything more comforting than a McVities chocolate digestive? Now that the stunning summer is over (ahem!) and the days are drawing in, the nights get colder and darker, and I find myself craving comfort food. I love the food of my childhood; warm, cheap and cheerful with the occasional treat. I remember that our bedtimes were very comforting; a bath, a bowl of cereal and then a mug of warm milk with two biscuits while mum read us a story. This ritual was always made extra special if we… Read Full Review
