“Not Just A "Beginner Bike"”

★★★★★

written by Rockin88 on 11/03/2020

I have an '08 C-50T bought new. Just turned 20,000 Kms. (12427 mi) This thing is bullet-proof. It's kept year round in my shed with winters routinely hitting the minus 30's. I know it's not recommended but I've never taken the battery out to store it. I may get a new battery this year as I had to boost it once the beginning of last season. The bike is stock. Original everything. All I've ever done is change the oil. May treat myself and add something finally. I've owned a few bikes and ridden several HD's. I'm 6'4 around 210lbs and this is why I chose the C-50: Fits my body size (windscreen could be an inch taller) Never ride two-up I never go more than a couple of hours away Highway speeds are 55 mph anywhere around Spend a lot of time on secondary roads or paved country roads Still could take it long distance if wanted I don't ride lots (1200 mi/yr avg.) but it's ready to go anytime I am.

“6th gear for C50”

★★★★★

written by Rodger59 on 05/09/2015

Well folks if you haven't heard, it's official that the 2016 year model will have a 6th gear (one of the only real gripes heard on reviews of the C50) MPG claims of 70mpg will definitely make the C50 able to go the distance and more with the competition. Was going to buy an old stock new 2013 model C50T but holding off till the 2016 model appears in the shops end of first quarter next year. Let the good times roll.........

“2007 Suzuki Boulevard Motorcycle”

★★★★★

written by Mikie56 on 13/06/2015

This my third motorcycle a 2007 Suzuki Boulevard C-50 this bike is perfect for me I'm 5'6" and 230pounds and I have 29000 miles on and I purchased a windshield, highway bars and driving lights for it a few years ago and change the oil every 3000 miles. I also purchased the Cobra pipes for it as well I really enjoy riding this bike it is the perfect size for me and I've not had any issues with it. Ive' had my bike for 5 years and have ridden to Nags Head North Carolina, Richmond Virginia, Tappahanock Virginia. and want to take a ride on the Blue Ridge Parkway in the near future. This bike will keep-up with any bike out there doing highway speeds it looks good and rides very smooth I would not trade this for a Harley or anything else, I love how it handles on the highway and in the city.

“C50T 2007”

★★★★★

written by nevetsdp on 28/06/2014

I bought my bike new. In 2 1/2 years I had traveled over 25,000 miles on 2 wheels. When I bought it I had not ridden in 35 years. I love this bike. It is a smooth running machine. I plan on getting a new bike soon. I am leaning toward the Suzuki C90T. I want to be able to pull a trailer behind it. This bike has plenty of power. I road it in the Rocky Mountains. The seat is very comfortable. The value was very high for the price.

“Comfortable, reliable, good ole workhorse machine!”

★★★★★

written by rsnow01 on 22/06/2014

Bought a new 2012 c50t classic and have ridding 2000 miles in 2 months. Great motorcycle so far. I did gut the exhaust pipes and the sound is what I want. Factory baffles just too quiet. Ride solo or two up just fine. I see a lot of comments about the high rpm at speeds over 75mph but so what, doesn't bother me. Finally had to hold it wot in second gear to find the rev limiter (65 mph in 2nd). The engine just seems to love every rpm range from low end to max!

“What a bike”

★★★★★

written by on 31/12/2013

I have had a 2007 C50T cruiser since new in 2007. This has been the most reliable, comfortable and predictable bike I have ever ridden. (I have had more than a dozen bikes over the past 30 years). The only things I have ever done to it is routine maintenance plus 1 set of tires and front brakes. Still running on the original battery even!! I have added fender tips, a leather fuel tank separator and driving lights. Cant wait until winter is over so I can start riding again....The only thing I wish I had was a 6th gear, but, am considering the driveshaft mod

“This is NO "beginner" bike!”

★★★★★

written by TomcatVF1 on 28/11/2013

I ride a 2008 C50. I just rolled-over 50,100 miles. I've ridden this bike nearly every day for 5 years as a commuter, and on long trips of varying distances - up hill and down, rain, snow and heat, freeways, country roads and city traffic; from the NW coast of Washington to SoCal, to Sturgis and then on to Middle Tennessee. I don't have a single genuine gripe (other than the need for a higher final gear!)... I've put 2 sets of tires on it, keep it oiled, lubed and clean - and changed the plugs twice. Hasn't even needed a valve adjustment! I've ridden bikes since I was 9 years old, including Harleys and there isn't a doubt in my mind, and I'm 59 now, this "little" 800 is the most reliable, dependable motorcycles ever! And by the way, mine's now a "bobber" and a bad-ass looking one at that! I paid just about $6900 for this machine, spanking brand-new, and that's the best bang for a buck I've ever gotten on a vehicle. Bar NONE!

“Nice Bike - Needs xtra Gear”

★★★★☆

written by jackie1234 on 12/03/2013

The C50 is a great mid-cruiser but like the author mentioned, It does need a 6th Gear ! ! Nice looking, well built bikes. But I did sell mine last year because of the lack of a 6th gear. If Suzuki should ever decide to add a 6th gear, I would be a repeat buyer and Suzuki would probably sell a zillion more C-50's. Great bike for beginners or seasoned riders. Classic styling with modern advantages. (fuel injected, shaft drive) RIDE Safe!

Do the DJ final drive mod and you won't need a 6th gear.
It lenthens the gears by 14% so you don't use 5th gear until 60 mph.

“Bought it used with high miles.”

★★★★★

written by claywheels on 31/12/2012

It's my 2nd bike. Guy at work me his 2005 C50T with 24,000 miles on it for only $3,000 so he could by a 2004 HD Road King for $8,000. The other day he told me he's put over a thousand bucks in his bike for repairs. When he asked me what I've put into mine since I bought it from him, I replied "gas". I've put over 6,000 miles on it this year, (2012) commuting 20 miles a day in both stop and go and city driving. I also take it on the open road for hours at a time on the weekends. This bike is the best all around bike for the money. It just fits all uses. Water cooled, low center of gravity for city driving on hot days, yet large and long enough for touring. I'm 5'7" and a 150lbs with a 30" inseam. It's perfect. I did add 2" risers because I found myself reaching too much. The previous owner drilled five 3/8" holes in the tail pipes and a coulple of holes in the air box. It gave it a nice rumble but not too loud. I'm torn between keeping this one and upgrading the air filter and fuel management system, or buying a newer model of the same bike with less miles. I have almost 30,000 on it now but it sure doesn't run like that.

I like the looks of the bike. I a 6' 1 1/2" at 220. Would it be too small for me? Does it feel like it has enough power? I was looking at HD's but I keep hearing the same. the need shop time.

I would go bigger if I were you. It handles two up riding fine but it's a little buzz y on the freeway. I'm looking at the V Star 1300 or the Suzuki C 90 now.

“Big honda fan switched to Suzuki & loves it, my best bike”

written by on 20/12/2012

I've rode street bikes for over 35 years, most of them on Honda's, great bikes. But my Suzuki C50T the best bike I have ever ridden. Granted it's 2 weeks old, it should feel great, the temp's here have been in the low 40's so i only have a little over 150 miles so far, but everything feels so right.I'm 5'9 and about 180lbs and all the controls are well in reach for me, the power feels good,i'm still breaking everything in. and it looks freakin great

“2012 C50T surprisingly nice”

★★★★★

written by MWheel on 21/05/2012

Have ridden hondas since the 70's, have 230,000 plus on my daily ride Goldwing 1500, the suzuki is plenty of power, and stability, easy to motor around town, or commute for my hour ride to mix it up from the wing. Seems more like a bicycle after 10 years on the goldwing, and I LIKE it! With the unbelievable financing, I couldn't turn it down, and have recommended it to numerous people, with one new rider taking me up on my recommendation. My son also is a new rider and has complete confidence in riding this bike. So far I have added saddlemen saddle bags with LEDs and a tuxedo tie to protect the tank paint from belt buckles, Memphis shades is in the works, but I need to get the turn signal relocation kit. Seems well made, nice finish, easy to access everything, tracks nice on the rain grooved Southern California freeway, inspires confidence.

“My best motorcycle ever.”

★★★★★

written by Claudelam on 13/05/2012

This is my 5th motorcycle and my best. It is a 2006 model with almost 7000 miles on it. Great looking, very comfortable, easy to handle, super reliable and economical to buy and maintain. My wife and I are almost 200 pounds (each) and this is no problem for this bike to handle. I added a tach, light bar, engine guards, a carry rack. floorboards for my honey and an outlet for my GPS. I am truly enjoying this baby. No desire to trade for anything else at this time.

“2006 suzuki c50se”

★★★★★

written by Lovit on 03/05/2012

Love at first ride, I am new to riding and 50 now how come No one told me this was so much fun? I would have done it sooner. Honestly this bike feels smooth and fast smoother then my jeep by far. Shifting is a breeze lots of room and a tac is not nesessary at all , shifts smooth and quick. Handles like a dream around corners, very responsive , you feel like it is an extention of your body rather then something you labour to guide. Very easy to ride and stear great design and sounds angry with a gutteral responce when pushed. I have owned it for 5 days and it has been dominating my life ...everything is put on the back burner just to ride... Frankly I love it . Don't know about economy but I filled it up for $14.50 and filled up the F150 for $138.60 both to full , the latter will last a week the bike will last 2-3 weeks so you be the judge. I have nothing to compare it to as I am a new rider, but I can say that it comes as a pleasent surprise to me to buy something that feels like sound quality and value for $4000 cdn hard to believe actually... The value is fantastic. There is really nothing I dislike about the c50 all the atributes and expectation have been surpassed, it may be possible that I actually picked the best choice first, sadly this means that all that follows will be a disapointment. I will keep you posted no time to write , must ride...

“Its my first and I love it!!”

★★★★★

written by on 12/04/2012

I am a lady rider. I didnt know anything about bikes, just that I love to ride on them. I decided I wanted my own. I just purchased my c50 4 days ago. I looked at the photos in the add and bought it over the phone. I was shocked at the size when I saw it in person. After 4hrs of bonding with it at the rest area near my house, I took it on the highway. I am so glad that I didnt let the size bother me because for as windy as it was and as novice as I am, I was happy for the wieght! I could hardly wait to get off work today! Even though it was misty rain and 40Degrees, I jumped right back on! I couldnt be happier with my purchase. I feel that I wont grow out of this bike. Its beautiful and fun!

“Perfect Bike”

★★★★★

written by on 12/11/2011

I purchased a Suzuki C50T 3 months ago. Many times while shopping for a new bike, I was "pushed" and "tempted" to go bigger. I'm glad I did not cave in. the bike is absolutely perfect. It's quick and nimble in the city, and it rides smooth as a whistle on the open road. I could not have asked for a better bike. I often ride with folks on larger bikes, and I have no issues keeping up or leading the pack. The C50 feels just right. I would recommend it to anyone! Soon after my purchase, I added Vance and Hines Cruzers and a Power Commander V. The bike runs and sounds great.

“Best bike in this class for the money”

★★★★★

written by on 26/09/2011

I bought this bike a little while ago, and wanted to get some miles on it before writing this review. I have to say that this bike suprises me every time I jump on it. It has more than enough power to keep up with anyone you maybe riding with, it has perfect balance for cornering and tight turns, and the miles per gallon make it perfect for long runs (52mpg). If I had to pin point one thing that makes the ride a little uncomfortable for me, it is the reach of the handle bars, at 5'10 I find that I have to lean forward slightly to get a good grip, a problem I will take care of with some 2" risers. If you are in the market for a used bike and you are on the fence, give this one a try I think you will be more than pleased that you did.

“Best cruiser for the money”

★★★★☆

written by jhcombs on 07/08/2011

I like the look of the C50 better than almost any other. I bought a '07 for $4600 with only 1200 miles on it. I liked it when I picked it up...but after riding for a few weeks, I love it. Smooth ride, plenty of horses, balanced feel. Plenty of torque in the low end. Excellent all around bike. Only minor negatives: At highway speeds of over 70, it feels like you need yet another gear to change into...revs are high. Also, the floorboards will scrape on a tight turn fairly easily. Wish the pipes sounded a little throatier.

I drilled 4 1/2 inch holes in the end of the pipes around the center exhaust outlet and it made all the difference in the world...a lot throatier sound but not over bearing...I have a 2004 Volusia 800...the last year before Suzuki changed to the Boulevard platform and I love it...same looking bike but has a carb instead of fuel injection.

If you are running a stock configuration, you will get approximately 50 mpg, or 80.5 km per gallon. That comes to about 1.2 gallons per 100 kms.
