Booked my daughter and friend on Stansted-K.L. flight. Booking was easy, though I wouldn't say the flights were exactly cheap at £680 per ticket. However ,as we don't live too far from Stansted it made sense. I was hesitant in booking with Air Asia as I had read bad reviews and friends had previously had bad experience with delayed and cancelled flights.
However I was pleasantly surprised. We flew Melbourne to KL and KL to Bali and return and the flights were only delayed once (45 mins at Melbourne airport).
Airfares were cheap but costs added up as you have to pay for everything extra (ie. food, drinks, blankets, luggage etc). Seats were surprisingly comfortable, though a bigger person might find… Read Full Review

I had a lot of problem with Air Asia online booking and customer care service.
I am a Malaysian who booked a trip from KL to Taipei.
Roundtrip ticket is booked from 20th to 25th of June with Premium seat.
I changed my flight on 20th to 21st and i select premium during the changes.
And i pay RM250 as penalty fee due to the flight change.
But when i reach LCCT on 21st of June, i am only allocated for Economy seat.
The ground staff told me i selected Economy during the changes.

We thought we'd try this airline for a short flight, but we've decided never to fly with them again. Flight was delayed both to and from Kota Kinabalu. The ground staff were not friendly at all and didn't even smile, general attitude was appalling. The in-flight crew looked a mess, with all the girls looking more like lady-boys. Both legs of my roundtrip flight Singapore - Kuching on AirAsia "have unfortunately been rescheduled" by ten hours earlier. I specifically chose the original times to allow for quick connections; now I have to rearrange my whole travel plan. When I spoke to the AirAsia agent and asked if they could do anything, the agent said that it was a management decision and I can cancel my flight and use the credit within 3 months. I will take a flight from Macau to Perth in July. They cancelled the flight for a "management requirement" from Macau to Malaysia and put me to the next flight. No compensation. Not clear explanation. No guarantee they will not change again. So based on the other comments on Air Asia, it is clear they change your flights all the time. The best airline experience. Flight was on time. It was cheap compare to other airlines I looked at. From the moment I set my foot on the plane I was well looked after by absolutely gorgeous and friendly cabin crew. They were happy and chatty as well as efficient. Nothing was too much work for them. Arrived at the check in desk at KL LCCT Terminal 2 hours before my flight to Chiangmai was scheduled to leave only to be told that the flight had already left an hour and a half earlier. We flew from Kuala Lumpur to Singapore. Flight was delayed going out of Kuala Lumpur but was early landing in Singapore. Cabin crew and check-in crews were really friendly and very energetic. They are a budget airline but they acted very professional and very high class. The seats are leather upholstered seats which I like, but they seem a little bit small. Air Asia is worth your money! Booked an airfare in September 2009 to fly to KL. Air Asia accepted payment through Paypal. Found out on 8 December that no booking was made. Numerous emails and phone calls were made to try and resolve the situation with no success. Missed my holiday with my mates and now can't get my money back. They refuse to reply. For info, especially to JHB-SUB Travelers....
I have flow AA before, and the service is not good. Rude ground and aircrews were common. Food is OK, seat is quite cramped. The most annoying thing is the delay and worse, cancellation of flights.

Travelled from Australia to Kuala Lumpur and back with Air Asia. Checking in was a terrible experience. Waiting in a crowded budget terminal for close to an hour just waiting in line to check-in. I've flown with Air Asia a number of times both within Thailand and to Cambodia from Chiang Mai via KL. I have to admit that in ALL cases the reason that I've used them is because of cheapness in comparison to the alternatives. Never again, flew with AA from PER-BKK return. Our BKK-KL flight was canceled but no one bothered to notify us of the change, we were simply taken off the list and not re-scheduled on another flight. It was only by accident I picked this up because AA didn't contact us at all even though they had our contact details. I was denied access to a supervisor and was coerced to "change" an airline ticket when I just needed them to send me home. It is important to mention that this was a returning flight and therefore it was AirAsia Airlines to send me back to the originating country, which according to international law they are supposed to fulfill.
