Beware..........there website is a nightmare. It's impossible to select and it keeps throwing you out. If you change any details at all, despite looking as if they've changed may not have as you have to selct confirm so what you see on the screen might not be what you have actually selected....woeful...

I have made FOUR attempts and waited in queues lasting in total FIVE hours to try to get a refund for overcharged baggage (nearly $100). I spoke to someone FOUR days ago, who promised my issue would be escalated and I would get a return call from the refund department....I am still waiting. I was wondering after my last Air Asia flight, why they were awarded as the world's best budget airline in 2009 and 2010 already. In what terms can they be better then the European ones. Air Asia has an unethical advertising policy where discounted or @free@ seats are offered online, however, when a seat is reserved the quoted price to be paid is the standard price. There is no SOLD OUT banner to prevent confusion. Their phone service can only be described as utterly pathetic and frustrating. Don't even try to use it, you will need a psychologist afterwards. Overall flight was ok, they have made a couple of changes to our flight to UK and back which cause lots of problem as all the changes either arrive really early hours of the day or not enough time to board the connecting flight so we have the extra cost of accomodations which amount to 3days and thats $300+ so if you get a real bargin then it ok otherwise pay a little more go with non budget airline. You can save quite a bit of money by travelling with these guys because everything is removed so you have to buy in back in terms of comfort or entertainment!
Don't get me wrong, they work excellent as cheap jaunt around asia once there, but take BIG more famous jet company to get to KL first.As 15 hours stuck in that cabin is only for the young fit person who can rough anything (I used to be)… Read Full Review

After reading multiple and mixed reviews prior to booking with AirAsia for the first time, I was a little hesitant in flying with them but having just taken 4 of their flights in 9 days, I would highly recommend them to anyone. As they are a budget airline, you are obviously going to get what you paid for so sometimes I feel that people's expectations are a little over the top.

I have flown several times from Melb to KL return over the last 2 years with discount airfares...unbelievable value... paying $AUS250 to $350 RETURN! . The flights have always been on time, planes clean, my only concern is that the staff seem to be a little indifferent to safety issues. A total waste of money and appalling customer service.

My Husband and I flew from Coolangatta to Kuala Lumpur and stayed 4 days and then KL to Ho Chi Minh return and then from KL over to Bali. We thought they were fantastic considering the fare we paid. Buy the time you pay for drinks, Luggage & food its really cheaper to use one of the proper airlines. Our flight on the way back they even gave us the wrong time so I had to book more flights thus costing me more money. 7 hours as well at KL Airport not the main one either. Do not rely on staff:we flew Kuala Lumpur to Brunei on Sat Aug 28th at the check in desk the system was down. Staff picks up from the desk a baggage tag clearly saying BKK (to Bangkok) and applies to our case. We ask if he is sure it will go to Brunei, and he replies no problem. Case of course is lost, no information at all customer service does not answer phone calls live chat sucks.

Well I don't know where to start 12 flights and 9 balls up.Flights cancelled and flights delayed. I had insurance but Air Asia owns the company. Tried to get a refund but I am still waiting.Apparently they changed insurance companies and they asked me to get a written letter from Air Asia explaining why the flights had been cancelled or delayed. I flew from Kuala Lumpur to Kota Kinabalu. There was a special promotion, and I paid only 1/2 of the standard MAS price, so it was good value. Without special promotions, once all the charges are added up, it could cost as much or even more than MAS, which offers meals and up to 20kg without extra charges.

I travelled with my wife on 18-Juy-2010 (from Kuala Lumpur to Langkawi) and 22-July-2010 (from Penang to Singapore). I have never seen such irresponsible crew, both on ground and in the cabin.
I am afraid by writting that ground crew shown height of irresponsibilities.
And cabin crew..when plane takes-off, the crew start their bussiness by selling different items in the cabin.

Do Not ever fly with AIR ASIA. They cannot be contacted at all even if you hold the phone for over one hour. They have no staff in Australia or office. you WILL LOSE your money. They do not respond to any emails. If they change anything or anything GOES WRONG. You lose.
