I have made FOUR attempts and waited in queues lasting in total FIVE hours to try to get a refund for overcharged baggage (nearly $100). I spoke to someone FOUR days ago, who promised my issue would be escalated and I would get a return call from the refund department....I am still waiting. Today, after more waiting on line, when I spoke to a real, live person my relief was shortlived when the phone call was cut off. As I had given my phone number at the start of the conversation, I waited for… Read Full Review
I was wondering after my last Air Asia flight, why they were awarded as the world's best budget airline in 2009 and 2010 already. In what terms can they be better then the European ones. I have had numerous flights on European budget and on the Air Asia too. Just cant imagine that their unkind, unfriendly customer service can fly them to the top. I can hardly bring up any trouble free encountering with the Air Asia from my memories. Probably I was just unlucky that almost all the time their… Read Full Review

Air Asia has an unethical advertising policy where discounted or @free@ seats are offered online, however, when a seat is reserved the quoted price to be paid is the standard price. There is no SOLD OUT banner to prevent confusion. Their phone service can only be described as utterly pathetic and frustrating. Don't even try to use it, you will need a psychologist afterwards. I changed my travel date and had to cough up a whopping 1800 baht - which made the final ticket price way above other… Read Full Review
Overall flight was ok, they have made a couple of changes to our flight to UK and back which cause lots of problem as all the changes either arrive really early hours of the day or not enough time to board the connecting flight so we have the extra cost of accomodations which amount to 3days and thats $300+ so if you get a real bargin then it ok otherwise pay a little more go with non budget airline. I have a second bad experience with them on another flight as this time I made a little error… Read Full Review

You can save quite a bit of money by travelling with these guys because everything is removed so you have to buy in back in terms of comfort or entertainment!
Don't get me wrong, they work excellent as cheap jaunt around asia once there, but take BIG more famous jet company to get to KL first. As 15 hours stuck in that cabin is only for the young fit person who can rough anything (I used to be)… Read Full Review

After reading multiple and mixed reviews prior to booking with AirAsia for the first time, I was a little hesitant in flying with them but having just taken 4 of their flights in 9 days, I would highly recommend them to anyone. As they are a budget airline, you are obviously going to get what you paid for so sometimes I feel that people's expectations are a little over the top.
In regards to check in procedure- there were absolutely no problems. We had pre-printed our boarding passes so… Read Full Review
I have flown several times from Melb to KL return over the last 2 years with discount airfares...unbelievable value... paying $AUS250 to $350 RETURN! . The flights have always been on time, planes clean, my only concern is that the staff seem to be a little indifferent to safety issues. For instance on my last flight back to Melb in Feb 2010, the fellow next to me had a large parcel on his lap as we were preparing to take off and had his seat belt undone, which was not noticed by various staff… Read Full Review
The worst airline I have ever come across in the past 30 years of flying.
A total waste of money and appalling customer service.
Arrived in plenty of time to catch the flight(well before the stipulated 45mins check-in closure) but the desk had decided to close an hour earlier for no apparent reason. We told the check-in girl that we were still within the required time limit for checking in and she reluctantly agreed that we were right. She phoned the ground staff/baggage handlers and even… Read Full Review

My Husband and I flew from Coolangatta to Kuala Lumpur and stayed 4 days and then KL to Ho Chi Minh return and then from KL over to Bali. We thought they were fantastic considering the fare we paid. The staff were lovely, all flights were on time - sure there is no entertainment however we saved a minimum $1000 compared to other airlines. Last year we flew to Vietnam with Cathay Pacific and arrived at Brisbane Airport at 10pm for our flight only to be told the flight was cancelled - the… Read Full Review

Buy the time you pay for drinks, Luggage & food its really cheaper to use one of the proper airlines. Our flight on the way back they even gave us the wrong time so I had to book more flights thus costing me more money. 7 hours as well at KL Airport not the main one either. Use this company only for short flights or you will regret 100%. Terrible food, Staff not up to a lot either.. Reallu don't bother!!… Read Full Review
Do not rely on staff:we flew Kuala Lumpur to Brunei on Sat Aug 28th at the check in desk the system was down. Staff picks up from the desk a baggage tag clearly saying BKK (to Bangkok) and applies to our case. We ask if he is sure it will go to Brunei, and he replies no problem. Case of course is lost, no information at all customer service does not answer phone calls live chat sucks.

Flight was on time, the crew were very polite and helpfull, seat was quite comfy, and i'm 6'4" and 18st, the flight was good with no problems and landed a little early. The return flight was delayed by about half an hour, and it was much the same as going, I had pre ordered the meals, which i quite enjoyed, and they included a bottle of water with each one. We landed about an hour before schedule which was a nice suprise, i have used Air Asia in the past, and will continue to use them as i have… Read Full Review
Well I don't know where to start 12 flights and 9 balls up.Flights cancelled and flights delayed. I had insurance but Air Asia owns the company. Tried to get a refund but I am still waiting.Apparently they changed insurance companies and they asked me to get a written letter from Air Asia explaining why the flights had been cancelled or delayed. Guess what I am still waiting on their reply, the crew is very nice, the food is terrible but when it comes to email, contact, pigs may fly. Spent… Read Full Review
Terrible website, I had to download both Firefox and Internet Explorer 8 to be able to book a flight, then the site blocked me out at least three times due to "inactivity" (I only went to get my credit card from my handbag), awful site!! I am just waiting to see what the flight itself is going to be like!!… Read Full Review
I flew from Kuala Lumpur to Kota Kinabalu. There was a special promotion, and I paid only 1/2 of the standard MAS price, so it was good value. Without special promotions, once all the charges are added up, it could cost as much or even more than MAS, which offers meals and up to 20kg without extra charges.
Checking in was very slow if there are lots of of passengers with excess baggage, which is paid for at the time of checking in. If you have pre-selected seats and pre-paid for excess… Read Full Review
I travelled with my wife on 18-Juy-2010 (from Kuala Lumpur to Langkawi) and 22-July-2010 (from Penang to Singapore). I have never seen such irresponsible crew, both on ground and in the cabin.
I am afraid by writting that ground crew shown height of irresponsibilities.
And cabin crew..when plane takes-off, the crew start their bussiness by selling different items in the cabin.
I have ever bad experience with Air Asia.
One of my luggage is still with air asia, but air asia itself dont know where… Read Full Review
Do Not ever fly with AIR ASIA. They cannot be contacted at all even if you hold the phone for over one hour. They have no staff in Australia or office. you WILL LOSE your money. They do not respond to any emails. If they change anything or anything GOES WRONG. You lose.

Booked my daughter and friend on Stansted-K.L. flight. Booking was easy, though I wouldn't say the flights were exactly cheap at £680 per ticket. However ,as we don't live too far from Stansted it made sense. When we got to the airport the check in was completely hassle free- no queues when we arrived 2 hours before take off ( they'd already checked in 150) - fantastic. I'd paid £5 to move friend next to my daughter when we checked in online, only to find the boarding passes were printed with… Read Full Review
