I've never had a problem with 123's services, and i can't comment on value-for-money but I CAN say that when i had a major problem with my site today (ALL my own fault!), they responded quickly, personally and went out of their way (and beyond the terms of their service agreement) to solve the problem for me - completely, and within hours - so they get my vote… Read Full Review

123-REG. FORGET THEM BEFORE YOU EVEN START.

This company does NOT have a Customer Service department - at least nothing that remotely deserves that title. I am simply AMAZED at the numbskull responses you get from their e-mail 'support' personnel; it honestly beggars belief.

We have had three issues with the service they (don't) supply over the past twelve months; all three of which could have been cleared up in five minutes each, but instead each has taken 4-5 days - and in one case three… Read Full Review

Not a great service. Webmail does not work with Thunderbird at present, web calendar has key functions missing. Answering problems is via e:mail with slow responses.

I signed up for there instant site service 4 days ago and have received nothing.

At first their support team told me to wait 24 hours to be able to access and start building my website, now they are just ignoring my messages. It is impossible to get them on the phone.

AVOID THIS COMPANY PLEASE, READ THE OTHER REVIEWS, I WISH I HAD BEFORE PAYING FOR NOTHING!

As a domain name registrar, 123-reg may just scratch the surface for the level of service they provide. Anything else their general lack of real human communication is most annoying. For example, much of their company seems to rely upon heavily automated systems which, fail to address the more personable nature required when performing customer service duties. I feel that 123reg are very good. I was constantly kept updated by email when ever my services were going to expire or were up for auto renewal, I was also given clear instructions on how to allow the domains to expire. Instead of ignoring the emails and then getting annoyed when a payment is taken, I think it is common sense to be aware of the fact that you are paying for a service, you are giving your details over to somebody, the obvious thing to do would be to make sure to read everything… Read Full Review

I've been with 123reg for about 3 years and I've had countless problems since day 1. I didn't want to transfer the services I used because of the hassle and I told myself that with time their services would improve (any decent company usually builds experience and learns from its mistake) but it has steadily gone worse and worse. “Very bad customer support, they would not read my...”

Very bad customer support, they would not read my ticket and just pasted in a standard response NOTHING to do with my request. Avoid at all costs, it's just another big company taking advantage of their size to get as much money as they can from you.

They tricked me into thinking my domain was cancelled but then charged me anyway, then ignored all communication regarding this.

Awful every experience over the past 5 years has been bad.

Currently in the process of moving all accounts away from them.

Support constantly giving wrong information.

Could not even get a straight answer as to their process of domain ownership transfer. Every adviser had a different answer and each was ill advised.

They are cheap I guess but I have put the value for money to 1 star because £5 for a year of hassle is not cheap!

The only reason I have put 1 in the Overall and Value for money boxes above is because that is the minimum permitted.

123-reg have one of the worst administrations I have ever dealt with. They consistently ignore support issues, have no direct means of contact other than through a web based form posting which as often as not does not work (Great advert for a company specialising in hosting websites).

“Basic service is acceptable, the package include...”

Basic service is acceptable, the package include joomla/sugar crm etc but then who doesnt.

The problem with this company is for anything other than the basics you pay - A LOT. YOu want a DB, pay more. YOu want more than 2 DB's - double the price. YOu want upto 10 - treble...

Support is via email not realtime and so users are left waiting, wondering and hoping for a reply.

All in all, if you want bare bones its ok, if you want a site - go elsewhere… Read Full Review

Do not use 123-reg please. They take money from my card we no permission, my website has disappeared costing me £1,000's of lost business. I have made a complaint to watch dog, there are now over 190 and they are well aware of the company. My email never works, the staff are rude. Anyone considering using them, I beg you please don't! All started well. 3 days into the blog being up, one morning I find, that the blog has disappeared - absolutely no help from 123 support. Then I start recreating the blog again and after 2 months ahve an issue with wordpress (the editor disappeared).
