“The worst hosting company I have ever had the miss...”

Please take heed of the negative reviews on this site - they are all true! I have been with this company 4 months now and the website has been down six times!!!!!! Each time they cant explain why and practically blame my site as the problem. The site stays down for the minimum of half a day. On top of this I have also had email failure a couple of times where no email was received for over half a day. I have been using 123-reg for sometime now for purchasing domain names. I never had a reason to contact support until now when I decided to purchase a mailbox. It is fast amd easy to purchase a domain name from 123-Reg and straightforward to set up things like Mail Forwarding, Web Forwarding and other features using their control panel. In addition, they offer good value hosting and other appropriate services. I recently had a problem with renewing my domain subscription (my own fault for letting it expire I guess.) “Great web host”

My experience with 123-REG have been nothing but positive. I've found the web interface to manage my services, particularly DNS, excellent, and well supported by help files. I tend not to use the phone for support, as raising a support ticket is easier, and keeps a record for future reference should my memory fail me. I used these for a couple for years. They were mediocre, and I've moved onto josthostme.co.uk where I think I get better value for money.

123Reg make web hosting and domain purchase simple. There was a lack of phone support, but a reasonable library of support material online answered all my questions. They do provide info about moving your domain elsewhere - so you can move on if you don't like it.

What I didn't like - php, databases, wordpress plugins etc - are not part of the budget… Read Full Review

“One thing is for sure, 123reg does not use the same...”

One thing is for sure, 123reg does not use the same hiring process as Google. Just as an example, they are incapable of correctly implementing a log out functionality: to log out of their control panel, you have to switch off your browser (awful if you are security conscious and totally unpractical and error-prone when you have multiple accounts). “I've been with 123-reg (and webfusion, their VPS arm)...”

I've been with 123-reg (and webfusion, their VPS arm) since December, and let me tell you - they sh*t all over 1and1 and GoDaddy, which was the previous configuration I used.

Every time I've contacted their support, I've received a helpful response within a few hours - and my issue is _always_ sorted for me.

Future customers beware : the 123reg marketing machine is very efficient, flooding the Internet with back links to their website so that it appears systematically number one on Google searches and also peppering forums with positive reviews of themselves. So if you are not careful and in a hurry you will end up signing up with them on pure marketing fluff.
