“Selection used to be so much better”

Written on: 30/09/2012 by zebedee70 (1 review written)

Roses used to be my absolute favourite selection box, but what has happened to the selection? - There is so little flavour choice anymore - far too many caramel varieties. And definitely far more in quantity of my least favourites - the orange and strawberry creams, than my favourites - the dark brazil and hazelnut swirl. It just feels like they are focusing on cheap ingredients rather than quality and variety. Kraft foods has rung the death knell for this British institution. I won't be… Read Full Review

“What went wrong”

Written on: 21/07/2012 by DisgruntledLucy1480 (1 review written)

Where do I start. I saved my tin of roses bought at xmas for a special occasion, this came today Friday 20th July. First of all the tin was near impossible to open. I gave up flustered and angry, my friend Ali broke a very long nail and my sister Danni had to get out the butchers knife. But at last, we were finally in. And this is where the disappointment began. Praline?? Long gone. Turkish delight. A distant dream. Peppermint cream? Apparently only the Aussies get to sample this pleasure. My… Read Full Review

“Cadbury roses chocolates”

Written on: 27/05/2012

I bought a box of cadburys' roses chocolates a few years ago, I had not bought this product for quite a while and did so on this occasion as they were on special but they were awful. My memories of them were that they were yummy, the centers of orange and strawberry cream along with the hard centers were favorites. My husband bought me a box of roses for mothers' day, had I known he was going to do this I would have said don't bother. Nothing had changed they were horrible and after eating a… Read Full Review

“What on earth!”

Written on: 02/05/2012

How can Cadburys alter the taste so dramaticaly of a long term favorite of mine, leaving them with such a pungent aftertaste that I had to wash my mouth out after eating one. I think they should have changed the name when they changed the ingredients, how about "stink bombs"… Read Full Review

Seriously I really miss the old selection which included; Praline Moment - Silver foil wrapped. Chunky Truffle - Shaped like a chocolate brick, wrapped in blue foil. Bournville - Small bar of Bournville Dark Chocolate. Almond Charm - Blue foil-wrapped milk chocolate, with almond nut pieces. Coffee Creme - Coffee flavoured, fondant cream soft centre, covered in dark chocolate. Montelimar - Chewy nougat, encased in milk chocolate; green foil-twist wrapper. Turkish Delight - Rectangular shaped, dark… Read Full Review

Written on: 28/01/2012 by hatti1998 (1 review written)

in the box of sweets itself i found a choclate in there (obviously) but the packageing was plain so i could not tell what sweet it was and it was oddly miss shaped but open mindedly i opend up the sweet took a bite and the inside of if was rock hard. so overall i was not very happy about this product… Read Full Review

“love these!”

Written on: 23/01/2012 by helenmichelle (10 reviews written)

I was always quality street but am now converted. Reason being quality street always had a few left over unwanted like toffee pennies and too many dark ones! New roses probably has too many caramel filled ones but at least the strawberry/orange creams are edible!… Read Full Review

“Shrinking Tins”

Written on: 19/12/2011 by korvanica (1 review written)

Tins are getting smaller and smaller every year. In 2006, they were roughly 1.5kg, now, you only get ~850g. This is not on. Cadburys do the same thing with the creme egg, its gets slightly smaller every year. While the price stays the same/goes up. I will never buy another Cadburys product again… Read Full Review

Written on: 18/12/2011 by taffyal (1 review written)

“Poor Show on the New Cadburys Roses”

Written on: 08/12/2011 by jmorris77 (2 reviews written)

Bring back the old chocolates! Got given a tin before christmas and in a moment of weakness opened them before christmas. I'm glad i did as i won't be buying them again to put out with my christmas decorations. They've taken away all the lovely old favourites and the ones that have survived have changed. Bad chocolate, minimal amounts of nuts and poor centers. Not happy cadburys, bring on the Quality Street!!… Read Full Review

“What have they done.......”

Written on: 01/10/2011 by MrC_V4 (2 reviews written)

lost a lot of the original chocolates and what is with that horrible bitter after taste that you now get? I have an old roses tin in the loft from a few years back the weight of the chocolates is 1.5kg the price is £12.00 the weight now is less than 1kg (about 850 grams) and the price varies from **£10.00** reduced to..... anything from £6.99 to £4.99. I think someone is using an old marketing ploy to make us feel like we are getting something for nothing. What idiot decided to sell Cadburys… Read Full Review

I think that bitter aftertaste is....chocolate. Real chocolate, as opposed to (gasp) milk chocolate.

Green & Blacks stand head and shoulders above this oversweetened wax.

Love the new roses as I ADORE the caramel with the hazelnuts inside in the purple wrapper. Plenty of creams if you like them yummy, not all that cheap and nasty praline stuff that everyone else seems to put in their boxes of chocolates !!!!!!!!!! I'll be buying them always and I have found they do the purple wrapper caramel and hazelnut centre in the Cadbury's shops, fantastic now I can buy exactly what I want and love… Read Full Review

Do you work for cadburys ??? Roses are the biggest rip off in the chocolate world , no variety , poor fillings , no nuts smaller tins at a cut price so we think we are getting a bargain but in reality we get nothing. Go back to the old bigger tin with some decent chocolate in and people might even buy cadbury again. Oh and should have never sold off to the bloody yanks who can't make chocolate

“I cant believe they're coated in Cadburys chocolate....”

Written on: 31/01/2011

I cant believe they're coated in Cadburys chocolate. It tastes hard and cheap and the melt in the mouth of cadburys is missing. The centres are very samey, loads have runny toffee, and the hard toffee ones no longer seem to taste of much. Really dull selection, so even if they tasted better nobody would want one of these boring chocs. No wonder they sell so cheaply, will never ever buy again, what was once a big treat is now unwanted and will end up in the bin. I may buy a little bar of… Read Full Review

Written on: 19/01/2011

RUBBISH! We get bought cadburys roses every year off our employer because they are cheap, but next year we will be requesting mini heroes or celebrations, but definitely not roses. Once the hazelnut whirl, mini chocolate block,& the brazillian darkness have gone we can't give them away or get rid of them fast enough we've even had to resort to sharing them with visitors just to get rid of them, they're rotten. PLEASE bring back the old selection, do you really need three runny caramels which… Read Full Review
