“Frankly Disappointed! ”

Written on: 01/01/2015 by Barton39 (1 review written)

We have a tin of Quality Street and a tin of Roses every Christmas. But the Cadbury Roses won't be on my shopping list next year. Waxy, bland, and cheap tasting chocolate! Revolting. They ended up in the bin!… Read Full Review

“Good competition for Nestle”

Written on: 31/12/2014 by MrNestle (1 review written)

Well done Cadbury you are now able to compete with Nestle who also destroyed the Rowntree Makintosh brand. Your Roses definately do not have the same chocolate as your Dairy Milk the coating taste like...................well nothing! I really have thrown the whole tub in the bin they are that bad. This represents very bad value for such a poor quality product… Read Full Review

You have done one review, and your profile name is rather vulgar. Are you sure you're not Nestle?! Would love to see all those chocolates in your bin

Work for Nestle?....absolutely not even Nestle chocolate has gone down hill over the years as stated in my review and as far as my profile being vulgar it was done as tongue in cheek and not to offend anyone.
What are your thoughts on the taste of Roses?
The only vulgar thing was the Cadburys Roses.

The only thing I can see that is wrong with this review is a few spelling mistakes.
They have destroyed the brand.

“YUK!”

Written on: 26/12/2014

What on earth have they done to what used to be lovely chocolates? These nasty-tasting things are nothing like Roses used to be, in fact they're quite disgusting. No matter which flavour I tried it made no difference, they all tasted equally vile. The chocolate is nothing like it used to be and the fillings are ... oh, I don't know how to explain it properly ... they're just sickly and bland at the same time. It was like eating some horrible mixture that you didn't enjoy having in your mouth… Read Full Review

Was looking forward to a box of Roses for Christmas but have they done to them? Terrible quality now nothing like the old Roses, cheap wrappers, cheap quality moulding and taste revolting and sickly sweet, can almost feel your teeth rotting as you eat them. Well done America, another great British company ruined... Yee haa!… Read Full Review

“Management ruined roses!”

Written on: 22/12/2014 by Tyrell154 (1 review written)

Another example of the dreaded bean counters running today's big companies. They have no vision in such things as quality , customer retention, loyalty and the future of growing the business based on solid foundations. How these faceless executive have just run down what was a cornerstone irish company. I received a box of roses today and was disgusted to find many of the popular sweets including removing all the toffee sweets. My friend that bought that tin of Roses was conned by your company… Read Full Review

“Disgusting...Nothing Like Original Roses”

Written on: 11/12/2014 by JennyoftheCotwolds (1 review written)

I felt really disappointed as I could tell straight away that these Roses where not Roses at all but some cheap chocolate sweets.

I will never buy Roses again and will seek to get my money back as whoever owns Cadburys are trading on the name only. Such a shame that our traditional confectionery are being overtaken by companies out to make money.

Mal5Smith's Response to JennyoftheCotwolds's Review

Written on: 12/01/2015

I think the company is owned by the Americans now unfortunately. They've recently changed the chocolate on the creme eggs now and people are complaining about that. It's a shame but do what I do, don't buy the rubbish anymore and make sure you comment on their Facebook page so everyone can see it.

“Disgusting ”

Written on: 19/05/2014 by fommy100 (2 reviews written)

After having lived in the US for many years, I was put off chocolate. If you have ever had the misfortune to taste a Hershey bar and not puke up afterwards your very lucky.

So you can imagine my horror, after dreaming about Cadburys chocolate for 12 months, I get home and run to get a Crunchie and a Flake, after dreaming about creamy chocolate, to my shock and horror I spat out the chocolate and threw it in a rubbish bin, it was so disgusting. It was like eating American chocolate.

There's nothing wrong with my taste buds, I've been eating chocolate for 30 years, its one of my favourite foods. Its a shame Cadbury's have started to use cheap fillers to cut costs in there production lines.

While they have done a very good job in trying to get the taste the same at a lower production cost.

It does not taste the same, my memory's of Cadbury's chocolate, was of quality and taste. I lived in Texas for 13 years, and have just moved back, for example if you taste a kit Kat in the USA you can tell they use cheap filler chocolate on them, when you come to the UK, the texture and taste of the chocolate is different.

That's the point!

I am making! But who I am I? Perhaps one of the general public who vote with their feet.

“Down with Roses”

Written on: 27/01/2014

Bought my tin of Roses this year like I always do, but I was deeply disappointed at the dreadful taste. All my favourite ones have disappeared to be replaced with low quality flavours, this Christmas they won't be in my shopping basket. I haven't contacted cadburys but my feet will do the talking. Why oh why would they put in a coffee flavour, if it's not broke don't change it… Read Full Review

“goodbye rose tin hello quality street!”

Written on: 20/01/2014 by roch75 (1 review written)

Opened a tin up- what a big big disappointed. Has been a tradition for years in our family to scoff at christmas & give out to family. On the tin said new improved???? Phoned up cadburys customer services to ask what's going on? According to the cadburys advisor their market researchers say this is what the consumers want!! Really I can't be the only one to have phoned them! All the nice ones have gone where's the coconut one & the chocolate tastes awful. When I questioned about the company… Read Full Review

“Will never buy again”

Written on: 08/01/2014

Given a Limited Edition tin of Roses for Christmas. What an awful disappointment. Every one was sickly sweet. The caramel barrel was a strange colour, not milk or dark but somewhere between the two. The hazelnut whirl was a different shape and nothing like the lovely chocolatey mouthful it once was. Also had some Milk Tray and they were awful as well. Cadburys chocolates are nothing like they were. Once a huge fan but now I won't eat again, would rather not eat excess calories in this way. Will… Read Full Review

“Cadburys Roses - decline in quality”

Written on: 31/12/2013

It's so sad to see the quality of this product decline so much in the last few years. The selection has been changed so much and the chocolate is sickly sweet. I would love to know where they are made now? Surely not in the UK or Ireland? My husband suggested China but I suspect Eastern Europe? Im sure these changes in product were driven by accountants but there comes a point where the customer is pushed into making a decision and I certainly will not be buying Roses in future… Read Full Review

“ExCadburyFan”

Written on: 28/12/2013

Once upon a time Cadburys Roses were a delicious treat you could share with all the family. Now it appears that a favourite childhood memory has been replaced with cheap, chemical after tasting, sugary goo. I liked the memory of Cadburys Roses from last century more than anything that was contained inside the "tin" and have nothing positive to say abOut the product. I will not be buying Cadburys Roses again. On a side note, try a Cadburys fudge. Tastes like nothing I've encountered from this… Read Full Review

“Awful....what a considerable drop in quality....”

Written on: 26/12/2013

I've always looked forward to a tin of Cadbury Roses at Christmas time, but was incredibly disappointed by this years product.... The quality has plummeted, between the American style chocolate and soft bland sickly-sweet fillings. Also the quantity of sweets per tin has reduced markedly. I can't understand why a longtime family favourite has been changed in such a drastic way, and I can only assume it is for the simple reason of corporate greed. Fools!! I really hope Cadbury/Kraft take note… Read Full Review

Jackiecaruana's Comment

I am guessing the reason for the reduction in quality and quantity (I agree on both counts) probably stems from the fact that retailers are selling them at greatly marked down prices. People aren't spending like they used to
