“Best on market!!”

I have tried many self tanners, this one is awesome . Be smart use it after a shower add some lotion to elbows and knees to avoid the color grabbing in rough areas. I didn't do that in the first app. And had no problems but got worried it would start lyin in cracks etc. the only prob is the smell don't get me wrong it's way better than any other but I agree it has that mens colone smell for awhile(I don't see why they picked the fragrance) I realize with self tanner there prob. Isn't many options loreal could come up with to hide that horriable smell . I will buy this again it tans a nice color I have olive med skin so it's good for me I hate pale winter skin. It's worth a try!!!

I used it and it made my whole body especially my face look like raw hamburger meat the next morning after using that night my face was so swollen my eyes were swole shut a week later I’m still trying to get it cleared up wanted to look good for vacation that I ended up having to cancel because of this reaction I’m pretty sure I’ll have perminate scars from the burns and rash this is a awful thing to go through I’ve already been to dermatologist twice and have another appointment tomorrow Please if your going to use this use with caution I will just stay pale rather pale than orange and scared

“Why do they re=brand and spoil things?”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 23/08/2013

I have used L'Oreal's Sublime Bronze Gel for a couple of summers and found it really good, it covered well with very little streaking so on going to buy a new tube I was a little concerned when I noticed it had been re-branded i.e. the packaging had been changed as I have come across this with other products when it hasn't only been the packaging that has changed but the 'revamped' item has also been altered. I should have trusted my instincts, on applying the gel I noticed I couldn't spread the gel out as well as previously and when looking at it the next morning it was horrendous! I had very obviously missed sections and it was so noticeable and long lasting I had to wear trousers for nearly 2 weeks to cover my legs as I was so embarrassed! Like I said, I use fake tan all the time and this has never happened before so it isn't like I didn't apply it properly. WHY DO MANUACTURERS HAVE TO CHANGE THINGS THAT DON'T NEED CHANGING?

“Intense”

★★☆☆☆

written by Monard on 16/05/2013

The good part is The product is lightweight and easy to apply. It works quickly, within an hour I saw deepening. My face was streak free. However the rest of my body wasn't, in particular, my legs were streaked. I used the medium natural tan, which was probably too intense for my fair skin.

“LOVE IT! ”

★★★★★

written by on 10/05/2013

As a very fair skinned woman with skin cancer running in the family, I am always struggling to find ways to get a tan without having to use tanning beds or spend extreme amounts of time in the sun. I bought this at walmart the first time because it was on sale and have loved it since. It lasts you forever! I washed normally and then applied it right after my shower, and a few hours later (not an hour as the bottle says, it was more like 3 or 4), I had a nice summer glow without any steaks. Seriously, it's better than a spray tan. I hate self tanners because they always have that terrible smell that stays the whole day, but this one barely smells like anything, maybe a hint of mens cologne. I just spray a little on my legs and arms every day or two, and i have a nice glow all year round that isn't orange.

“Good product”

★★★★☆

written by NKeddle on 21/03/2013

I have tried so many really expensive self tanners (such as Clarins) but this one is really worth its price. Those who experience orange colour: it is VERY IMPORTANT to apply the gel on a fully exfoliated skin (if you don't have facial scrub then put some water in your palm and use fine sugar or sea salt, does the job perfectly) and apply it in VERY THIN layers very carefully, not to miss the area between the hair and the skin and EVEN it all over the face, neck, behind the ears etc. If you apply TOO MUCH product you will look orange! My secret is to apply it once, then wait for a day or two and then scrub my body again and re-apply. If you are sensible and follow the instructions (exfoliate!!!!) then you will love this gel. Yes, smells awful, but all the fake tans do and this is a safe way of looking healthy sunkissed.

“Woo hoo!”

written by on 21/06/2012

This stuff is the stuff for me! I've tried a zillion fake tans (Garnier, Tan in a Can, Fast Tan, Nivea gradual ...), and this trumps em all. Its a tad more expensive than other supermarket ones, but totally worth it. - no streaks - lasting colour - looks completely natural It does stink, but I'm yet to find a tanner that doesn't. It also comes out of the bottle uber fast, and an all over body layer uses up like a fifth of the bottle. BUT IT LOOKS AWESOME.

“Very good and immediately effective”

★★★★☆

written by libbymimnagh on 10/06/2012

Visible on your skin immediately. Gives a really nice colour and coverage on my skin. Can look a little bit too sparkly, really sticks to your hands and it doesn't stay on skin for very long at all, which is why I couldn't give it 5/5. If you're going out one evening and you've forgotten to fake tan beforehand, this stuff will show on your skin as soon as you apply it - I have found this to be particularly helpful!! The morning after, however, the water in the shower will be bright orange. This stuff has absolutely no durability, which is a real shame.

“L'oreal Sublime self tanning gel”

★★★★★

written by xxfashiondollxx on 05/06/2012

This self tan is one of the best. I have fair skin and have tried so many fake tans. This one has a great colour, it doesn't streak! I scrub my body with a body scrub, wear plastic gloves when putting it on, I put two layers of the medium colour on, sleep with it on overnight, have a shower in the morning and its the perfect colour. It does have a fake tan.smell.but worth it cause it looks great!

“I was a tangerine..”

written by thescreamingpanther on 23/04/2012

It's cheap for a reason - I've probably tried around 15 different brands of fake tan, gels, mousses, sprays; this was one of the worst. Good points: Smells quite nice, It does make you a darker colour.. Bad points: It takes ages to soak in, becomes very, very patchy after a shower, turns you absolutely orange. Now that I've tried all the different brands, I would definitely not go back to this one.

Awesome colour ! I'm really surprised and it turns out that every product l'oreal release is great ! The Self-tanning gel is really easy to apply ,it smells good it has a shimmer to it and after the application the tan develops the first 2-3 hours .. you have to be careful with the hand and the wrists though because if you dont apply as good you may get streaks which is not very attractive .. I'm happy with the results and i'll definitely repurchase ;))!

I have tried this product once years ago, wasn't impressed with it then, but thought I would give it another go. I was so orange and with streaks..I scrubbed for days to try and get it off ..it's been 7 days now and I swear the stuff won't come off..I have big patches now under my arms on my arms and legs..my stomach is still orange..I am worried it won't come off..I put 2 light coats on. showered after each (waited about 4 hours after each then showered). I would not recommend this product to anyone with fair skin, or anyone at all!!!and I bought the one for fair skin.it's Yuk!! I have bought St tropez mousse..but now have to wait until this muk comes off my skin..hopefully will have better luck with St Tropez :(

L'Oreal is company which tests on animals - That means doing hideous thing we would rather pretend does not happen. It's down to YOU to stop buying products from companies that do this or the cruelty will continue. Don't kid yourself it is done humanely as it isn't. Next time you see Cherly Cole done up like a dogs dinner and think how nice she look just think about that. There are plenty of companies that do not test or use products that are tested on animals.

I thought only Proctor and Gamble tested on Animals now! I've been avoiding buying anything from them for years. I didn't know about L'Oreal! :-(

Worst product used for years. Thought I would try it because of the smell factor and indeed that was an improvement. As for colour it was very fake. It's the worst product since boots soltan ! Colour was uneven streaky and false. Would rather have the bad smell and decent tan of st tropez !

“TEXTURE-light and silky, dried in quickly but not too...”

written by littlemissmerlot on 04/04/2011

TEXTURE-light and silky, dried in quickly but not too quickly.SMELL-fresh and not overpowering on application developed mild 'fake tan' smell after few hours.APPLICATION-easy to apply and blend,no guide colour, no allergic reaction RESULT-unsuitable on my very pale skin, it was orange and unnatural. Loads appeared to wash off during first morning shower and covered my towel in bright rust coloured residue, also stained clothing on the first couple of days. It lasted a few days but despite thorough exfoliation prior to application it wore off very patchy indeed. I would not use or recommend Sublime self tanning gel because of the colour, staining of fabrics and extreme patching. It did smell ok and was easy to apply so perhaps on people with darker skin the product would be suitable
