“A Total Rip Off”

Written on: 16/07/2013

I got insurance from the coop young drivers for me and my son, since I took out the policy in November these highwaymen !!! have cancelled the policy twice, and tice charged £120.00 cancellation fee and twice charged £90.00 fee for the box. I think they should be investigated. they also told me that I could take out a new policy again. What, to be charged all over again in a month or so when they decide to cancel again. I don't think so. never again… Read Full Review

“horrendous”

Written on: 10/07/2013

I was offered insurance which i then brought, only after I brought it I was THEN told of extra paper work needed, as I didn't have it to hand, I cancelled the policy straight away. Trying to get my money back is a nightmare! They won't refund my money, i will now be seeking via a solicitor to get it back now. Steer clear, they are a pain in the back side and do not help!!… Read Full Review

“Complete Rip Off !!!”

Written on: 03/07/2013 by hendryr (1 review written)

Prior to setting up policy I rang to find out what I needed to do to claim no claims discount as I have had a company car for 20 years!! " No problem" I was told " all you need is a letter from your companies insurance company stating that you have not had any claims ". Great I thought, so I went ahead with the policy at just over £100 a month for a crappy old £300 car.. 1 month later I get a letter telling me that my monthly payment has gone up to £326 per month !!!! What !!! Basically… Read Full Review

I previously ownly used coop , but moved away on price and attitude. “Smart Box Catastrophe!”

Written on: 15/06/2013

They have been fine up till now with phone calls and arrangements but after installing my smart box and saying everything is fine I went to start up my car and drive across London, the car wouldn't start and all electronics was faulty. My electric windows was moving up and down my alarm was flicking on and off and the most horrible of noises was coming from my cars electrical system. I'm furious and can't believe they send a joke of a mechanic who comes and screws my car electrics up...then… Read Full Review

“Underhand insurance company”

Written on: 06/06/2013 by gassafe (1 review written)

Reminder letters must be sent out from insurance companies when renewal period is due. CIS failed to do this for one of my vehicles claiming they have stopped insuring commercial vehicles. They said they passed my details to another company who should have sent out a reminder. We did not receive this. I was stopped by the police and had my van impounded. I was given 6 points on my liscence. I had to pay a £200 fine and pay to reclaim the vehicle when new insurance was in place. Original… Read Full Review

“Worst Insurance Company Ever”

Written on: 05/06/2013 by Meatyp1980 (1 review written)

Unfortunately you have to pick a start at the top, i'd prefer to give no stars. Started out ok with Co-Op but within 3 months i was having problem after problem, i was spending more time phoning them for mistakes made with my account than i've ever had to call in my 16 years of driving. I made payments which for some reason they refunded without telling me, then chase me for payments that had already been made. Mucked up accounts so i ended up with 2 seperate accounts for the same car. And… Read Full Review

“Too many fees.”

Written on: 23/04/2013 by ivantashev (1 review written)

I am with co-op for the last 1.5 years and whatever I change they put the price up. Started from £55.00 per month and paying now £117.00 after changing the address twice and adding/removing second driver. Also they have £15.00 change policy fee, and £35.00 cancellation fee. They don't have any online account services and I need to phone every time. Checked with other companies and they are offering around £35.00 per month. Cancelling my policy tomorrow… Read Full Review

“POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE”

Written on: 12/04/2013

I have several insurances with the Coop and a bank account. I am also a Coop member. Received my 2013 car renewal which was much more than I was expecting. Checked with online comparison sites and the Coop renewal was £60 more than the likes of Aviva, Saga, M&S and DL for identical cover. Rang the Coop. Waited 10 mins for an agent, went through all the security questions, had to be put on hold and transferred. After 5 mins waiting I was cut off. Rang again one hour later and held in a… Read Full Review

“CO-Op theworst insurance company of all time,-don't...”

Written on: 03/04/2013 by cretin (1 review written)

Appalling. Having all the documentation ready for the Black box fitter which included both licences for the additional drivers on my policy, these were not looked at . This despite being offered both at the time. Some weeks later I received a threatening e -mail stating that they had withdrawn the details of the additional drivers, without giving a reason and at the same time stated they would take a further £448 from my account. No other useful information was included, such as why they had… Read Full Review

“No Claims Discount Trick”

Written on: 26/03/2013 by DeannaN (1 review written)

Have received a letter telling me that because my 3 years No Claims Discount wasn't with the Cooperative and now my car insurance is now going to be about 40% more expensive! The on line question asked me how many years no claims I had, it didn't say 'with the Coop'. I'd filled a few on line forms and this question didn't vary from one company to another. So I had no idea. I'm so disappointed with them. One of the reasons I had been happy to go with them was because of their 'ethical'… Read Full Review

We are having the exact same problem at this mo,we filled in saying we have got no claims on another vehicle and were told that was ok and to just send our no claims discount proof but because we not sent it in time theyve now put what was a good quote upto an absolutly rediculous quote which we have go to pay and if we did want to leave then would have pay a massive sum, please nobody take car insurance out with these they are VERY INADEQUATE.And riddled with problems.

Td76's Response to DeannaN's Review

Written on: 19/04/2013

Agreed. Had same problem been going on for over a month them saying the proof was not good enough blah blah blah. Called them this morning and got THEM to call my old insurance company to confirm how many years no claims finally got it sorted out. I have never had this problem with any other insurance company. And there customer service is really bad, only spoke to one helpful person there the rest well.

“Cheap cover BUT pathetic service”

Written on: 14/03/2013

Have been with them for two years and they provide cheap cover but in the event of making a claim they were PATHETIC!!! Further to a no fault accident they failed to contact 3 independent witness, failed to keep me updated with claim progress and failed to pursue clear and straightforward recovery from third party. Automated call centre takes ages to connect and each time you call have to explain the whole saga over and over again. They promise to chase things up and get back to you, but never… Read Full Review

“Won't insure my Saab!”

Written on: 06/03/2013 by lizterry (2 reviews written)

Have been with Co-operative Insurance for several years and was always happy with how they handled my claims. However, they have today refused to insure my new 2007 Saab. They claim that this is because Saab recently went into receivership so they are no longer providing insurance for their cars. I think this is outrageous! Saabs are known to be very reliable, and it's to be expected that several models will be on the road for some years to come. Refusing to insure them is just ridiculous. I… Read Full Review
