I lost 4.5 st in 14 weeks. easy to follow, cost £66 per week for basic food packs £75 if u want water flavouring and even more if u get the savoury shakes. My counsellor didnt really know what she was talking about - i knew more as a drug and alcohol nurse! Very hard, unsympathetic attitude. Treated us like school children!
I couldnt afford to continue after foundation programme. attending wt watchers and wt coming off at a slower pace but i can "budget" my food at 5-1000 calories and comes… Read Full Review

I dont have to be the fat best friend when I go down town with the girls anymore… Read Full Review

V.fast weigh loss. Easy to follow. Group counselling is invaluable.. I've been on the programme for 11 days. I lost 11lbs in my first week. I think the counsellor you have for your group is all important; luckily my counsellor is excellent (very supportive and geninue). You have to appreciate this is not a magic wand; but simply a way to lose weigh and re-educate yourself. Thus far, just the fact I've stuck with it is very enpowering. Definitely worth a try!It does seem costly; but you have to… Read Full Review

I loved the group counceling sessions and having lost so much weight so quickley i am really happy with myself and the lighter life progam, i have only just reached my target weight and am now starting to learn to manage my weight but i feel confident that with the support offerd by lighter life i can maintain my weight and continue to be healthy which is more than any other diet i have ever tried… Read Full Review

I have just come back from the 'initial information meeting' and I am not convinced by this programme. Firstly, I know that I am 5ft.6 and that my BMI is exactly 30 (my doctor measured it 4 days ago), and I was told that I am 5ft.5 with a BMI of 33.3. So, my suspicions were raised to begin with.
I found that the programme is selling psychological support, without trained therapists onsite, to people who are vulnerable and that worries me. My councillor was sweet, I liked her, but her advice was… Read Full Review

I lost 4 stone in 12 weeks. Starting weight 14 stone 2, end weight 10 stone 2. From a size 16-18 to a comfy size 12 and in some shops size 10.
I started in June and finished in September this year (2008).
Now feel amazing, no other diet has ever worked for me like this, on Weight Watchers and Slimming World both of which I have been a member on a number of occasions have I ever lost this much, it would have taken me years to achieve what I did on Lighter Life.
This diet worked for me because… Read Full Review

I finished LL foundation in 09/07/08. My one concern all the way through was once I finished I would pile the weight back on and waste all that money and hard work.
I lost 3st 2lbs during LL then slowly lost a further 11 lbs over the next two months and have been happily maintaining since.
Unfortunately i couldn't afford to continue to route to management where they help you introduce food so I did it myself using left over packs to wean myself off and slowly introduce food as per the plan… Read Full Review

I have been trying to lose weight for over 20 years and have been a yo-yo dieter all my life. I have tried WW, SW, Atkins and many others, the most weight I have lost in the past is 4st but as all yo-yo dieters I put that back on and more every time i lost it. Lighterlife is in a league of their own compared to these diets as they offer therapy in weekly group activities using CBT and TA theories which help you get to the core of the real problem as to why you choose to overeat and eat when you… Read Full Review

Very happy with loss, but scared of what might happen. Reading horror stories of how people put on even more weight than they lost. I am meticulously deciding daily the foods I intend to introduce into my new life style. I think the people who gained big amounts of weight were at fault themselves. After such a struggle of abstaining to go back to old ways is a SHAME. Where is the will power?… Read Full Review

I would recommend this diet for anyone who needs to lose 3 or more stone and because you have monthly medical check ups with your doctor it isn't dangerous. Im 23 yrs old I done this diet last year and lost 3.5 stone in 3 months my mum also done it and she lost 4 stone and has maintained her size 10 figure however after my 14 weeks I decided to have a break as I was going on holiday that was the biggest mistake I have ever made as after my holiday I never returned to the diet and have regained… Read Full Review

None really, how can this person review a diet system after only two weeks?
Counselling comments were positive but then how can this person really rate this as effective after only two weeks.
I have been on Lighterlife now for seven months. It's the most effective weight loss programme I have ever been on. That's not to say it's always easy.
I have found abstinence from food to be empowering. The counselling has helped me realise I have a significant eating disorder. On the food packs I feel… Read Full Review

I have struggled with being overweight and obese since teenage years and yo-yo dieted all my adult life. At 61, determined to be fit to do the Inca Trail to raise money for Breast Cancer Research as several friends had died, I knew that the weight had to go and then I needed to get fit. I have done both. I am currently in the management phase of the programme, have dramatically reduced my weight, BMI and body fat. From a size 24, I am now in a size 10-12 weigh 10 stone 3 pounds and go to the… Read Full Review

My good points about LighterLife are; good motivation, meeting people in same boat. Sharing experiences. Definate results. fabulous. Excellent CBT offered. The way we eat links back to child hood and beyond. Everything is addressed no stone unturned.
Great service provided overall, the rest is up to the individual.
Willpower comes from within… Read Full Review

The CBT prepares me well for working out why I eat destructively. The group sessions have been very good and it is working very well. I have tried everything; the good ways, the bad ways, and in every case I have bene unable to sustain it. Nowhere other than LL has ever worked to help me understand my eating and to give me the tools to eat normally. Well recommend this Diet Website… Read Full Review

I am now on my third day of Lighterlife, I know this doesn't make me an expert on the diet yet but at least I can be honest about what to expect in the first few days. On my first day I really overdid myself, went shopping for four hours which, when you have literally quartered your calorie intake, was such a bad idea. I felt so weak and nearly collapsed in the shopping mall and when I got home I just lay on the stairs for about an hour to tired to move. But really if I had taken it a bit more… Read Full Review

I started the diet last year and in 4 months had lost 5 stone, then for some reason I lost the motivation and started to struggle, so I decided I would stop over the Christmas period, returning in January. When I returned I had to buy a month's foodpacks up-front. I do see why, as all the people that started were coming back for their second attempt and one by one they may drop out. The trouble is when you have no food and then you allow yourself to have some you get obsessive and the only… Read Full Review

I thought LighterLife was too restrictive - once you have completed the 100 days - you still have to do Developer and Management before stabilizing - this makes me feel as though all Lighter Life are interested in is money.
There are more flexible options available now - with healthier products - No aspartame, no transfats.
I recommend having a look at newer, cheaper products that are now available… Read Full Review

I lost over 4 stone on LL last year, it is the best thing I have ever done after struggling with my weight for over 30 years. It took 5 months to lose and I did not cheat once. The thing that kept me going was seeing the weight loss on the scales practically every day or two, never less than 2lb and mostly 4-5lb each week. Yes it is expensive but worth every penny for the slim figure I now have and the fantastic feeling I get when trying size 14 clothes on after being a size 22. Yes, I could… Read Full Review

Main things I have found out from this diet is the reasons I gained so much weight. The outcome is simple for me. Through not having 'normal' food it is clear to see that being overweight is due to my lifestyle. Not because I am a large build, slow metabolic rate, its in the family, gain weight quicker than anybody, any other excuse.
Some people unfortunately do have medical reasons, others like me have let weight get the better of them. Some foods are addictive and when you get depressed or… Read Full Review

I did follow this and found it alright at first. It is so difficult at to abstain from food completely apart from the packets they let you drink- 4 packets a day - soups or shakes. And after a few days they will allow you a bar instead of one of the packets. These aren't prticularly nice either!
I think the basic idea, although they would dispute this, is that you are so full up with water you don't want anything else! The packets amount to about 500 kcal a day, and anyone eating this will lose… Read Full Review
