I finished my LL journey over a yea ago now and as i have not put on a single pound since then, i felt i should write about it! My story starts with being over 20 stone at the age of 22. Not nice. I felt that this was the way i was meant to be and that was that. Oh was i wrong (thankfully!) I was recommended to the diet by a friend of my fathers who claimed the results were outstanding and fast. Hesitantly i went to my first meeting and got the doctors form to bring back if i decided to go… Read Full Review

I have been on LL 3 weeks today and have lost 18lbs. I was 13.10 when I started and would like to get to around 10 stone. After day 3 (once the hunger goes) I have found this diet a breeze. I find it amusing to read the reviews stating 'putting all the weight back on once you finish', obviously you have just gone back to your old eating habits, otherwise wouldn't everyone in the world be over weight?!?!?!? It really does make you think about your eating habits/triggers, and if you are happy… Read Full Review

I am currently on the Lighterlife Diet and have been for the past 6 months. I decided LL as this was recommended by my doctor who had seen fantastic results from other patients and doctors that she knew. As with everyone i had tried WW, SW and Slimfast and i could not keep to the diets or my weight would creep back on. I have lost an incriedable 6 stone in that time and even tho this diet is not for the faint hearted with some will power and determination it can and does work. Yes you may get… Read Full Review

Simply, it works. It's not complicated and if you are a busy person like me, it's perfect. Plus the group counseling helps keep you on track. I lost 2 stone, going for a 3rd stone. Never in my life did I ever think this was possible until doing this. Everything else I've tried, I've failed, without experiencing good results, without it being easy to follow, I just drop it. But I've managed to stay on LighterLife and it works. Boggles my mind that I let myself be unhappy for so long… Read Full Review

I have been on LighterLife for 10 weeks and have lost 45lbs. I started at 18st 11 and now i am at 15st 9lbs. Initiallly i found none of the problems that are being banded around. When starting it is a shock to the system, but after the first few days i was amazed that although i was eating 550 cal a day i did not feel hungey at all. I did the initial 8 week (for Men) and then a further 2 weeks as i did not feel i had lost enough weight. I go swimming about 2-3 time per week and swim 50 lengths… Read Full Review

I have been on the program for seven weeks, I have lost five and a half stone, my target weight is six stone which I hope to achieve within the next two weeks. Does it work? this is my take on the program. I was fat because of what I used to eat and the alchohol I drank, not because of my dear parents not because I was struck down with the deadly it is in my jeens syndrome or not because of the any excuss will do desease. I was fat because I ate fat. Does lighterlife work yes the scales do… Read Full Review

PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS DIET!
I started the lighter life diet around two years ago and did it for around 8 months. I lost 5 stone and as soon as i came of it i put a lot of the weight back on, this was following the lighter life guidlelines of introducting food in stages.
It made me have a very negative relationship with food as it makes food the enemy and a bad thing. I developed an eating disorder as i had got it ito my head that all food was bad… Read Full Review

I did lighter life 2 years ago and lost 7.5 stone in 8 months. And feel really great. I have put on 1/2 stone since due to my holidays over the last few months but eating normally and its coming off again. It is expensive £66 a week but I had tried so many diets and spent so much money on other diets. I do believe that all diets have their own merits and it is best to find the one that works for you as we are all different. I did have one side effect my hair became very thin after I finished… Read Full Review

Lighterlife was great to experience being thin for once in my life, BUT the after effects are more damaging. Reality = rapid weight gain when started eating normal food, chronic problems with pain in my digestive system, overactive bowel movemements. And this is 2 years after ditching the diet.
To anyone wanting to enrol in Lighterlife please consider the reatilty Save your money....
After asking around I have found that my experiences of problems after Lighterlife is quite common, I have… Read Full Review

I'm just about to start week ten on LighterLife, my last week, and I've lost just over 4 stone, just in time for my holiday.
It really has been worth the "effort", it's been a little tedious at times, and I've found the weekends to be the most challenging, especially with the smell of all the summer bbq's wafting around, but if you're determined enough you can do it - if I can, anybody can!
To be honest I'm finding the thought of the last week to be the most difficult, I can't… Read Full Review

I've been on the Lighter Life diet for four weeks, the first week I lost an incredible 16lbs, second week 6lbs, third week 5lbs, fourth week 4lbs.
Losing 2 stone 3lbs in just 4 weeks, I think this diet (if you stick to it) speaks for itself.
Although the weight loss has gradually declined, I've now decided to introduce some exercise, on the advice of a friend who has lost an amazing 8 stone on this diet, he said that he found the same decline over the weeks, but by introducing exercise he did… Read Full Review

I write this review from the point of view of a behavioural-economist. It is my job to draw together insights from the cognitive sciences and economics to examine what makes people tick and why they do the things they do. My partner recently went on the lighterlife diet after her sister was diagnosed with diabetes, and in helping her get through the first fortnight, I have used insights from my work and applied them to this diet and its effects.
First of all, it is vital to break the rules. The… Read Full Review

I completed LighterLife foundation September 2008, lost 3 stone and dropped from BMI 33 to BMI 27. Maintained weight loss until Christmas 2008, when I began to introduce 'trigger' foods - bread & chocolate, in small quantities. February 2008 I had re-gained 9 lb, so re-joined a LL development group....all attendees had re gained large amounts of weight in a short space of time! The counsellor was new to me, she had a punitive approach and promoted the importance of abstinence, almost accusing… Read Full Review

I started Lighter LIfe 2.5 weeks ago and lost so far 1.5stone.
Due to my buisy workscedules, I drive a lot, this diet is brill for me, and after the first 3-4 days which arent easy , I admit, it was a doddle, as everybody started commenting on how better I looked.
With the rate I am loosing weight, I might only need another month before I start the maintanance program.
A lot of people cheat in my group, and wonder why they dont loose as much. I havent cheated once, as I understand the concept… Read Full Review
