in a nutshell i did this programme for three months was not informed of the need for the higher calorie intake week (to stop gall bladder problems) and ended up seriously ill in hospital for months a at a time eventually having
having my gallbladder removed. My coucillor could not have cared less and more or less refused to even talk about what had happened to me.

I lost three stone on lighterlife and found it to be the best diet I have ever tried. Yes, abstainance is tough - but only for a short while, then it gets easier, much easier than counting points, weighing food, balancing carb and protein or boiling cabbage! I had done them all over 10 years and steadily gained weight. Although my weight still creeps up (I love food!) I am aware of my issues and a few weeks back on the Lighterlife light or maintenance and I am back on the rails again. (read more)

Lighter life? It`s only about the money, there is no interest in you as an individual, only the insistence of paying for a whole week when you don`t need it. No flexability or understanding if you struggle, no individual support, just an insistence on "sharing" your journey with others with ludicrous rules about what you can and cannot discuss(whilst the counsellor appeared to be immune from this rule). Seriously consider the long term impact of the Lighterlife diet.. You lose weight on this diet because you stop eating. So yes, it does what it says -you lose weight,but you also lose nutrients which can have an impact that lasts for years. I was on it for 3.5 months and and came off it immediately after my doctor took a blood test and saw alarming results.

I am looking into starting this "diet" but I am concerned about how strict it is. I have 3 stone max to loose for my wedding in August and from reading the reviews people have posted it sounds like this is achievable from lighter life. My only concern is that I have about 3 occassions in Febuary when I was looking to start that would involve me having to come off the diet for an evening at a time. Would this cause a massive problem?

I now totally recognise why I was fat and why if I am fat in the future it will be my choice. What a wake up call. I lost 5 stone innitially but feel better putting on 7llbs that was 2 years ago. I love that you get results so quickly, of course when you come off the plan the hard work starts but believe me nothing tastes better than being able to walk into a shop and buy a size 12 and know its going to fit. Lighter life was the best thing I ever did! I lost 3 stone in 8 weeks to reach my target weight, then went on to lose another stone without really dieting, so I lost a total of nearly 4 stone. That was just over three years ago and I've put on about 7lb but I'm still below my target weight. I don't actually diet, but do things like have only two biscuits instead of 6 or 7. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to lose weight.

I have lost over 7 stone and have kept it off for 2 years now.....yes I still see my councilor occasionally to keep me on track....but the weight stays off. This is the first diet that has truly worked for me. I never once felt ill, hungry or tired during the whole time that I was on it (about 7 months). Full information was given to me prior to commencing this diet - I would unhesitatingly recommend it to other people. (read more)

I was so excited about starting the diet. I did lose weight but I became very ill on it. At first I was told it was just my body adjusting, but it got to the point I couldnt even stand for more than a min without coming out in a cold sweat and feeling like I was going to faint!!
