I have a 2003 ttr 125 and it is good but it can be a pain some times. I have had it for 2 years and I have put almost the same amount of money into it as when I bought it. sometimes it will go like a bat out of hell but then theres times where it seems like it doesn't want to start. its an ok bike but it can be better

“Worst bike ever last Yamaha I buy”

★★☆☆☆

written by Noahhigginbotham on 23/12/2013

My ttr 125 is the worst bike ever just got it and It's terrible. I wouldn't recommend y'all buying this Bike for y'all kids. Once the motor gets cold You can't get it to start. I'm really ashamed on Yamaha But oh well... I'll just have to get over it an I can't sell it Because my dad won't let but I will never ride it again No matter what

I haven't noticed this problem. Bought one for the wife to learn on and it always starts easily. Nice smooth power delivery for the beginer and decent suspension inspires confidence when learning to ride. You don't want to ride it, well thats a problem I guess you'll have to live with. I find its better to ride something than nothing at all.

“BEST BIKE EVVEERRr!!!:)”

★★★★★

written by YamahaRyder123 on 21/12/2013

Hi, everyone. I got a 2007 TTR 125 L two months ago. It has awesome power-it will knock you on your rear end if you gas it. I am 14 and 120-130 pounds, 5'4. It is a good bike for novice riders and pro riders alike. I am the second owner, but they hold their value very well. It should last 2-3 more owners before finally quitting. The only thing is you need better suspension. The stock is too soft, and I am getting a new suspension. The little bike also will pwn those 2-smoke racing bikes in the trails. DO NOT jump. Anymore than 3 1/2 ft. Will break the bike. My cousin is 15, 2 inches taller, and 10 pounds heavier and snapped the frame in half on his while tackling a 5-foot jump. That's all I have to say, I would recommend this bike to anyone. Have fun!

“Waste of money”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Cupojoe on 12/11/2013

Rode it almost a hundred hours in a month, simple riding within the rev range and cleaning and taking care of normal maintanince every day after a ride. Took it to the dealership, $900 bill for stuff that just randomly breaks like a spring in the gearbox that i had no control over. The bike is one of the weakest bikes i have ever ridden. If you want a bike you can ride, this isnt it. Last yamaha i will ever buy.

I can go any wherw I like and know that it will not fail me and will get me home with out question. This bike has good top speed (105km) and plenty of down low toque. I also added GYTR full system exhaust which made it sound awesom. I recomend this bike to anyone whoes looking for a good all round trail bike

“$1,800 worth of repairs after 5 rides!”

★☆☆☆☆

written by sadrjm on 16/05/2013

I bought this bike as a Christmas present for my 13 year old. He is a very cautious, easy-going rider. After 5 rides of easy trail riding it stopped shifting! It's only 5 months old! I took it to the dealer and they said it only had a 90-day warranty (lame) and would cost $1,800 to fix! Something to do with a spring that cracked the case...i dont know. I just spent $4,000 for this bike!

“best bike you could get for beginners. ”

written by anconsdirtbikes on 06/10/2012

I am 13, I don't race, but I have a couple thousand kilometres in behind my cottage, where we keep our bikes. I have been riding dirt bikes from before I was 8 and I gotta say, this is by far the greatest bike I've ever owned. With 17 inch tires, a clean frame, I feel like the world's most bad mutha. I originally got this bike as a present for my birthday (needless to say it was way too big) but I got it running (finally) and I was impressed. I would recommend this bike for anyone that can fit on it, and bud, spend the extra cash and get one with 17 in tires. It's totally worth it. Hope I can be of some help.

My friends would have big ass bikes and im thinking i need something small and fast like Was Welker or a Barry Sanders in a Bike.........Love the Bike spent 1 hour testing the TTR125 Man in Hooked, and took a bug to the face, not happy about that

Hi, this is my first dirt bike, its a great starter bike. It's a very fast bike for a 4 stroke. If your a smaller rider it would be perfect for you. I'm 14 and 5 feet tall and it fits me perfectly. Go ahead and laugh. I couldn't tell you about jumping because I don't have anywhere to jump.

“Hello, I have owned my TTR125lwe for around 14 months....”

★★★★★

written by on 05/02/2011

Hello, I have owned my TTR125lwe for around 14 months. I am 14 years old and am now upgrading. This bike was my first and was a fantastic bike. It taught me everything, clutch control, gearing, jumps and basic motorbike handling. It has about average power for a similar bike in it's class. The reliability is like no other. It is unbeatable in that respect alone. The maintenance requirements are its bi-annual services and very little else. Have had only one problem which was a factory fault with the carby. One thing I would've liked to know before my dad bought it for me was how quickly I would've grown out of it. Granted I was 5'5" when I got it and grew quite fast, It is now too sluggish and small for me. Otherwise, for a smaller kid you could not find a more suitable bike. Low maintenance, high reliability, user friendly and easy to handle power makes this bike the cream of the crop in it's class. One piece of educated advice, BUY IT!

i got my ttr 125 for christmas this year its an 08 and i had it for about 4 months and the top end on it went bad so i had to replace it. but other than that its a great bike. good with jumps, fast in the woods will go up anything it keeps up with all the 2 strokes and 250s i love it ive rode that thing through 3 foot deep puddles and up sides of mountains the only thing is that its speed on the track could be alittle quicker but its deffinately a good bike

Hi, im a beginner and have had this bike for a little over a year. It is bone stock, except for the chain and front rims. It has great quality, great handling, and it clocked in at 57 mph...which is fast enough 4 a beginner. I have learned on it very quickly and occasionally jump it. My only complaint is that the front suspension isn't so great, but the back is fine. It's a really fun, nimble bike with a great clutch, and good speed for a crappy country road and really muddy trails and fields. I can tell it has good stability because I have done a few no-handed landers on jumps and have done one for a while on a bumpy trail at 50 mph. It can glide over some pretty tough trails and can climb 80
degree angles pretty dang easily. (Iv tested that theory.) It has good torque and is a VERY low maintanence (sorry 4 spelling) bike. In my mind, you don't need any mods if u dont plan to jump it 6 ft in the air. Ive learned on it very quickly and even passed 2 strokes the same size on motocross tracks! I also dont get this stuff people are saying about how it can't carry more than 85 pounds. I'm 5'3 and weigh 150 lbs and it doesnt even sweat under my weight. I also ride it pretty hard for 3-6 hours a day and it doesn't even groan. So, if you're looking for a easy to work on/low cost reliable trail bike, than the TTR 125 is for you!
