We are selling and our buyer is selling through BE in Putney, London. There are only 3 of us in the chain. Simple. All the paperwork's been done and we have been waiting 6 weeks to exchange. The buyer at the bottom of the chain was according to BE 'on holiday' for a vast amount of time. Then he wasn't. Then he was. Then finally he'd 'got in contact' from his holiday destination to confirm he would be returning last week to exchange. BE even spun the yarn to the point of saying 'he's going in on… Read Full Review

We first viewed the property through their partner company Frank Innes (who were extremely helpful and friendly, and have been since), but Bairstow Eves offered us discounted initial fees. Having provided all paperwork and paid to have the property 'taken off the market', we were told that unless the landlord specifically veto'd us, the property was ours. After a total lack of communication, 3 days later we are told that the property had been let to another couple who had applied after us… Read Full Review

I put my place up for sale in April this year and accepted an offer on April 14th. THREE months later of me constantly contacting the branch manager who happened to be dealing with the sale out of SIX calls he didnt reply to any of them and only got back to me after by pure fluke I managed to ring one day when the area manager was in the branch. So today is 13th July and another colleague of hes rang me to say the buyers have sent off there mortgage application!! And then had the cheek to say… Read Full Review

I instructed Bairstoweves in Great Barr to sell my property and find a solicitor for me on the 7/11/12 & I completed on 27/02/12. I found even over the Christmas period they still pushed my property for me, we found the buyer early January. I found all of the staff very friendly and helpful I didn’t live at the property so they under took all of the viewings and gave me feedback the next day. Once we agreed the sale to first time buyer decided to use the mortgage advisor in branch along with… Read Full Review

Bairstow Eves Polpular Road Solihull I made an offer on the above property that was declined on Friday 25th May 2012 , I was told rather sarcastically "well anyway someone else is now interested and has made a better offer" This person is in a chain although they have just accepted an offer. We are not in any chain so I upped my offer at around 11.00 by another 6k on 25/05/12 at 11.00am . I explianed that my Father who has lung cancer needs to move nearer to me so need a quick response and… Read Full Review

Bairstow Eves lied to get tenants into our property. The main requirement was a rent guarantee system. Bairstow Eves agreed to this and we agreed a % for full management. After moving the tenants in we received our contract without rent guarantee provided, I rang the branch and we were told the tenant hadn't provided sufficient references for this to be provided. This is after confirming ALL references were 100% correct before moving the tenants into our property. 4 months into the tenancy… Read Full Review

As a first time buyer I was obviously very nervous about buying my first property and in need of guidance. I am aware that agents work with their clients (sellers and landlords) in mind but once my offer for a flat had been accepted I was left high and dry by these agents. I was firstly told my an incredibly rude gentleman named Scott that I would have to use one of their mortgage brokers which I did. As a result I had to continuously chase for updates and push the mortgage advisor to do work… Read Full Review

What can I say thats positive about Bairstow Eves? Zilch. Nada. We should've run away as soon as they mucked up the first time. Sadly they tie you into a 16 week contract, leave early and you have to pay a few hundred quids... I'd rather eat my own shoes than give them money. Started off with being ignored the moment the contract was signed, no returned phone calls, and promised deadlines were broken. Followed eventually with an amazing set of rubbish photo's - I could've taken a better… Read Full Review

Agent either refuses to respond to repeated emails or dodges the questions. Extensive work done to property since I moved in, yet I was not notified in advance and not even after scaffolding was erected. I had to be in on many occasions to allow the work to be completed, including painting window frames / front door etc. And now I've discovered that more work has to be done - from the builders themselves, as the agent apparently refuses to be honest with me, on the rare occasions when he does… Read Full Review

Booked an appointment to look at a property with Bairstow Eves, went and had a look, no problems. The sales lady suggested I speak to their mortgage advisor seeing as I was a first time buyer and didn’t really know what price range I should be looking at. I thought yes why not, seeing as I didn’t have a lot of knowledge about this. Spoke to a lady called Paula who, initially, seemed very helpful and knowledgeable. She explained everything thoroughly and told me my options. She took all my… Read Full Review

I find it difficult to say anything positive about Bairstow Eves or the Countrywide Group to be honest. Firstly they don't have a complaints department so you just end up getting fobbed off. Do Not Use the Solicitors provided by them (you give them control over the purchase) it gives them the power to mess you around and get away with it, I know from personal experience. After the sale of the property fell through I had a nightmare of an ordeal Renting through Bairstow Eves Lettings the… Read Full Review

Been with this agent for a while, after trying two other local agents...they haven't sold my house but it's not for lack of trying...they've generated far more viewings and offers than the two before, they are really professional and a pleasure to deal with...more than you can say about most estate agents! I've already recommended them to friends and would use again… Read Full Review

Is it possible to give a minus rating? What can I say about the Stoke Newington Bairstow Eves office. My only advice is don't go with them if you want to sell your property. Shakil points out the bad on your property, the stuff even you don't notice and the head guy Hector, well if he spent less time having a cigarette outside maybe you might feel supported, especially when you have a difficult sale. Vile man.
Stoke Newington has lots of Estate Agents - DO NOT USE BAIRSTOW EVES… Read Full Review

Like a misled fool, I instructed the Bairstow Eves sharks to sell a house I was left in a will. They kept insisting I reduced the price & when I had reduced it by nearly £60k they came up with a buyer who wanted another 10% off the reduced price.
I refused the sale which did not make Bairstow Eves very happy bunnies at all, so I ended the contract, changed agents & within 3 weeks had two buyer's, one of which offered just over my full original asking price & we exchanged in 4 weeks.

Appauling customer service- AVOID at all costs, would not even give 1 star but unfortunately this is not a option.
Trying to view is vertually impossible unless you are willing to sell through them, arrange a mortgage through them basically make them as much money for as little work as possible.
My viewing appointment was cancelled on 4 seperate occasssions in the end I have given up and gone through the other estate agent who i found to be far superior.
