    My suspected my card has been compromised (identity theft?) and as you can imagine I'm a tad stressed about it. Did Abbey help? No.

    I have had this account for a number of years but I have become exasperated by unkept promises of return phone calls. I am about to transfer to another bank's account.

    I've had it with Abbey - after 11 years they've finally upset me enough that I'm voting with my feet. If you're thinking of joining them, my advice would be to think again.

    A few years I moved my principle banking away from Abbey because they were not prepared to offer a bridging loan unless I took out a mortgage with them. The delays they caused in getting the bridging in place lost me the house I was after.

    I've been with the Abbey for 10 years and I had a mortgage with them which they recommended a 5 year fixed rate and as soon as I took out the mortgage the interest rates fell BIG TIME.     A generally poor building society, badly attempting banking services. It fails over and over again, please avoid.
