I had a bad experience with Last Minute.com when I tried to cancel my hotel reservation.
I purchase three nights at a hotel three days in advance. I then had to cancel the reservation five hours later, and found that I was charged for the first night + tax.

I booked flights to South Amerca with Lastminute and paid by credit card. Within a few hours circumstances dictated that I cancel the flights. I phoned the company, followed the computerised pathway and, eventually, told that I would be transferred to an agent to discus the cancellation. It was my second time I was trying to purchase a flight ticket from Last Minute. However everytime I attempted paying for it I received an error message asking me to contact lastminute. The booking of flights to and from New Zealand from the UK went very smoothly, with no problems. I booked a flight for my family and paid with a debit card. They took money from my account immediately.
I waited for 5 days to get my ticket and then I tried to contact them. They told me that they are not able to complete my booking and will refund my money in 10 days.
Their contact number in the UK makes it impossible to speak to a person if you are calling to follow up a booking and their email correspondence is done from India and each reply takes one day.

Booked flights, hotel and car parking through lastminute.com. None of the services I booked were particularly cheap. When I settled up at the hotel they charged me an additional 'tourist tax' (£7) because I booked through lastminute.com. When I got home and tried to retrieve my car from the pre-paid (through lastminute.com) on-airport NCP car park, they refused to accept the booking number supplied by lastminute.com. We booked with lastminute.com to fly from Heathrow to San Francisco, and return from Los Angeles. The prices were the best we could find, and our confirmation arrived almost immediately. We could not find any other online service which allowed arrival and departure from different airports.

Be very wary of Last Minute .com's "Top Secret Hotels" deal. Described as fabulous, 5* luxury but so secret their partners don't even want to put their name to them.
Wondering why? We booked 4 nights at a 5* hotel in Mayfair. It turned out to be a beautiful hotel in a quality chain, but currently undergoing major refurbishment. We checked out the recent reviews on the web and here's an example:-

In my experience Last Minute misleads, they offer hotels, that they say are four stars and they are bed and breakfasts, without even a lift, check the Williet hotel in London, and when the buyer, who has been taken for a ride, complaints, they do not answer. My requirement from www.lastminute.com was a cheapish 2 day break to Paris, travel by Eurostar, and a comfortable hotel quite close to Gare du Nord.
In spite of snowfall threatening to spoil the trip and stop the trains from running, Lastminute.com came up trumps. £205 for the 2 of us to travel and a 2 night stay in a 3 star hotel a mere 10 mins walk from the station.
