We used lastminute.com to book a hotel room in NYC. After booking we were notified by lastminute.com that our credit card company would not allow the transaction to go through because it was a foreign transaction. It turns out lastminute.com banks through Israel. After multiple phone calls to our credit card company as well as to lastminute.com we finally were able to complete the transaction. We received our credit card statement yesterday and to our dismay there was a $20 foreign transaction… Read Full Review

I cant really see why you would complain about this. If you are in the USA why on earth would you use a British company to book your hotel and not expect to pay a foreign transcation fee. I have used websites in the US when i have been over there and fully expected to pay a transaction fee as i do when i use an ATM

Booked a flight from within the us as I am a us citizen,the flight was from NYC to florida. However I was charged in British pounds almost 90 dollars more than what was listed in my confirmation email. After two days of calling they wouldn't refund my entire amount which was okay but nor would they refund the 90 dollars stating I should have read carefully. Booked a hotel,received the confirmation then 7 days aftrwards had a call direct from the hotel saying they were full and last minute should not have taken the booking,we are stuck now we are going to a wedding and have to take expensive taxis,i thought the hotel acted in a totally unproffesional way… Read Full Review

Wish I could give Zero. I booked a flight from lastminute.com from Delhi to London. Payment was taken; I received the confirmation mail and the ticket. Before flying I checked the ticket with Emirates airline and they also confirmed the booking and issued the PNR number. After 4-5 hours when I arrived at the airport, Emirates staff confirmed that my booking was cancelled 4 hours prior to the departure on the same day. Booked Eurostar Disney package via Eurostar: attempt 1 failed but their payment service took my money and they then said they would take 72 hours to refund. Advised I try again as they could not process the package over the phone (why?). Attempt 2 also failed although this time no money was taken allegedly. Attempt 3 (to book the same package) was then allowed over the telephone. Took the agent 1 hour at 10pence per minute to sort. “Terrible company! After making a hotel booking I...”

Terrible company! After making a hotel booking I caught my flight to NYC and on arrival received an email saying my booking was cancelled. I was stranded and had to pay for an expensive out of budget Hotel as a result.

After many calls, most dropped or transferred, I was told the refund had been put through but it took two weeks for it to be completed by them (excluding the bank processing time)

Worst of all? They had the audacity to charge me for the cancellation!!!… Read Full Review

Be very careful when using this site - they hide small tab boxes with important information very well - . Their solution when complaining is to get you spend more money...before giving a refund on the previous transaction.

Booked flight and holiday, received e-mail saying it was all confirmed from lastminute.com. Arrived at Heathrow, no air ticket, no hotel reservation. Phoned helpline (by this time the flight we had paid for and taken off) and was told there was a technical hitch. No hitch with them taking our money though!

No holiday! Have used company many times before for theatre breaks etc never had a problem. Very very disappointed and have wasted time, money and our annual leave.

This company is an absolute shambles. No clear agreement between them and the hotels they advertise in respect of VAT invoices. I have wasted days trying to get this sorted and have been constantly bounced back and forth between lastminute.com and the hotel. Neither prepared to accept responsibility. It has gotten to the stage where I have had to make a formal complaint to HMRC. Customer service is no existant. I found this review very helpful because..i HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH LASTMINUTE.COM as did this person who wrote about the VAT receipts. The VAT receipts were non existant and both the Hotel and last minute .com were constantly passing the book to each other not really answering your question. To cap it all you even get charged 10P a minute for their wrong doing.
<br/>Dont ever use this company, you will have problems of getting your money back if any thing does go wrong. It took me two months get my money back. They were telling me all sorts of excuses of why the money they have already taken from my account would take nearly 10 days to clear with the hotel followed by another 10 days to clear back to Lastminute.com and a further 10 days to me. What a joke.

If you are going to go with an accommodation website, I would recommend going with wotif.com.au or similar before lastminute.com.au. Their mid-price hotels are sub-standard, the secret deals are misleading, their telephone operators require some training in manners. This is the first time I have written a review and not one to complain but I found consistently found lastminute.com.au to be deceptive. Your choice but I know I will not be going to lastminute.com.au again… Read Full Review

To everyone who has a bad review. I doubt you people are ever really happy.
Always complaining about bad service and this is a rip-off etc.
Please name one company, just one, that isn't ripping it's customers off in the highest order to make a profit. You are a pawn to a greater machine. Put on your Nike shoes that cost .50 GBP to produce, or eat your snikers bar made with blood and sweat of African children. Never use Lastminute.com as I found out. I booked in a well known hotel chain company for three nights and was very dissapointed on the first night. I was constantly woken throughout the night with noises coming from outside at the macdonalds untill midnight and twice during the night from the room next door untill 1.30am followed by someone above the room constantly walking and banging at 3.30 am untill 5am.

This company is a joke, I booked a hotel room as a surprise for myself and my partner but after booking room the hotel informed me there were no rooms and Last Minute should never of booked it. Money is tight so i could not afford to rebook as they wouldnt refund my money for seven days, I am still waiting. The call center staff are a joke and have no idea what they are doing they kept me holding for 15mins at a cost of 10 pence a minute. Lastminute.com is a nightmare! I tried to book a hotel through the website and the hotel called back saying that the website said that the card is 'stolen' (it's not). so the booking was cancelled.

then tried to book again with another card, but there was an 'error' on the website

so I called them and it took more that half an hour on the phone on an 084 number and at the end of it, he said no hotels are available. (and he couldn't understand what I was saying)

I booked 4 theatre tickets for 17th July. We arrived at the theatre only to find the system had reserved our tickets for the 1st July! Needless to say - the theatre wouldn't let us in without paying for that nights performance! This doubled the cost of the show!!! Customer service staff at lastminute.com were extremely rude and unhelpful. They are sure I have my dates wrong -WHICH I DO NOT!!! They refused to refund us or look into the matter any further. I booked a hotel the night before booking was required. I immediately checked with the hotel to make sure all was received ok and they told me that the booking was invalid and that they were in fact fully booked.

My poor student son spent £80 on theatre tickets for a show that he couldn't reach because of the snows earlier this year (2010). I wrote to their help desk asking for a refund, so did my son - we have received not a single email.
