Lastminute.com is a nightmare! I tried to book a hotel through the website and the hotel called back saying that the website said that the card is 'stolen' (it's not). so the booking was cancelled.

then tried to book again with another card, but there was an 'error' on the website

so I called them and it took more that half an hour on the phone on an 084 number and at the end of it, he said no hotels are available. (and he couldn't understand what I was saying)

I booked 4 theatre tickets for 17th July. We arrived at the theatre only to find the system had reserved our tickets for the 1st July! Needless to say - the theatre wouldn't let us in without paying for that nights performance! This doubled the cost of the show!!! Customer service staff at lastminute.com were extremely rude and unhelpful. They are sure I have my dates wrong -WHICH I DO NOT!!! They refused to refund us or look into the matter any further. LastMinute.com are gangsters.
I booked a hotel the night before booking was required. I immediately checked with the hotel to make sure all was received ok and they told me that the booking was invalid and that they were in fact fully booked.
i asked what I should do and they said that Lastminute would not re-imburse me but would instead re-locate my booking.

My poor student son spent £80 on theatre tickets for a show that he couldn't reach because of the snows earlier this year (2010). I wrote to their help desk asking for a refund, so did my son - we have received not a single email.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. Some friends and I were trying to book flights to go on an American Council of the Blind conference, and we found some really good deals on lastminute.com. When we entered the card ino, we got a message back from the sight that there was a booking error and to try again later. I have just been scammed by lastminute.com and highstreetmax.com

I used lastminute.com to buy theater tickets in April, at the end of April I noticed a recurring visa transaction for £14.95 debited from my account. I called the number on my statement and it's just an automated service, no one answers. We booked flights and 2 rooms in Paris Hotelas a package and on arrival told only one room had been booked. Thankfully hotel staff sorted this out. return flight cancelled due to volcanic ash. Just had an appalling experience with lastminute.com. We booked a flight with them and the return was cancelled due to the volcanic ash situation. The flight was with EasyJet and their website said you could rebook online; however since we had gone through lastminute there was no record of our booking. We then rang lastminute and got put on hold for half an hour, and as soon as we got through, somebody hung up on us! I booked a hotel through lastminute.com. No complaints with the booking or the hotel but their website offered what appeared to be a no-strings discount voucher against a future booking. I did't take it up and didn't think more about it. On checking my credit card bill a couple of months later I saw a charge of £14.95 fro High Street Max - not a name I had ever heard of so I queried it. Happens everytime... false advertising if you ask me. Lastminute.com just shows you cheap rates, which then prove impossible to book !

Go to us.lastminute.com, select your "package" destination and dates, and you will get a very attractive "starting at" price listed prominently on the page. Customer service helpline is never answered. The call centre staff are moody and don't understand what you are trying to get them to do. Found the hotel room £180 cheaper on another site and it took another 14 calls to cancel my booking. We have a booking for a hotel in Jersey for 4 nights starting tonight through bmi baby hotels run by last minute.com - as our flight has been cancelled, I am trying to ring Last Minute.com to see if I can amend our booking -
As per their website, I am ringing their customer helpling.

Each time I ring - ALL THAT HAPPENS IS "THE OTHER PERSON HAS HUNG UP" AFTER 3 MINUTES.

Great Website if you are just getting what you want, price are cheap but can be very mislead. I have never come close to having a break down until I booked with Lastminute.com.au

They double charged our tickets to $8500 by mistake, and refused to take responsibility for it, since they kept repeating "we don't have a billings team" - in other words, they take transfer thousands of dollars everyday, and have no data entry to account for any of it.

I had to go to the bank to prove they took it.

I found this review very helpful because a very similar thing happened to me when I booked with "lastminute.com.au" - This company really needs to be shut down. I applaud you for speaking up against them - business' like these need to be shut down.
