I booked a pre paid car hire with Avis, I live in the UK and the hire was for in the USA. When I arrived at the Avis office they couldn't process the pre paid voucher code, their system didn;t recognise it. I then had to call the UK number from the USA for over 30 MINUTES!!! Very bad service. When i booked ticket for my daughter the middle name did not appeared on ticket. Since i need to take a visit visa to Dubai, it need the full name as on passport. Appauling- wanted to make a group booking of 5 people in 2 rooms. If you want to book more than one room, they tell you to call, but all they do is what I could online without calling. I did not want to give any stars, but that was not possible, so I had to give them one star. I am still waiting for a reply from Ebookers, after months of phone calls and emails. I have been ignored completely. I have even sent a letter to the management, which also has been ignored. It is impossible to get an intelligent person on the phone and therefore I tried emails. Don't trust or rely on ebookers. They mis-spelled a name on our flight booking with Virgin, I spotted the mistake on the confirmation email and phoned them straight away, changes were free if notified on the same day. After 25 minutes on the phone they had not been able to get through to Virgin and gave up. The agent said she would 'escalate' the case and a supervisor would deal with it. Can't even give them a single star I'm afraid. Their customer service is appalling! I phoned to try and change a booking and they kept me on hold for 45 minutes insisting that they had to bring up the fare rules! I work as a travel agent and know that this takes 2 minutes max, so clearly they were keeping me waiting while clocking up the pennies it was costing me to call them. I booked a cheap flight and later have to cancel it. Their fine print says the flight charges are non-refundable, even though the operator is returning the money. They ate my 100 euros. B**tards. Never book with them. They will take your money even if you want to change it. On non loc-cost flights they charge 45 euros for change or cancel.
I forgot my last experience with them (2 yrs back) when I have to struggle for half an hour on phone for a little thing.

It was a complete desaster, we rented a car via ebookers.de and could not get the car delivered by the local rental company (Alamo/Paris) due to lack of documents, despite I had everything that ebookers.de told me to provide. Booked back in May 2010 3 months before my flight, had to change due to family health issues (not mine but the people I was travelling to visit). When I booked originally, I wasn't told I had to travel within 12 months of booking so when I wanted to postpone by 9 months, all hell broke loose. If I want to pay an additional £3,000 of course I can fly............please if you want to maintain your sanity, don't touch these people with the longest barge pole on earth!

Our flight time got changed after booking and we got an email from Ebookers about this. This meant that we would not catch our connecting flight (booked elsewhere). Good site for hotel bookings. However you have to be very careful when booking flights. The airline generally take their money from your credit card as a separate transaction from the fees and commission claimed by ebookers. This means two separate transaction on your credit card, something that I could not understand as they appear as an unauthorized transaction.

Don't ever buy on ebookers. Their service is appalling and they steal your money. We have purchased a trip (flight+hotel) from Switzerland to London and when we checked our bank account we found out that they had charged us twice for the flights. We called ebookers to request them to fix the problem and they treated us awfully. EBBOKERS.COM - This is the worse customer service i have ever encountered, I had to call them afew times because every time they put me on hold they hung up. The telephone numbers to complain and addresses is very hidden on the website. When i tried to pay for my flights - an error had occurred but they still took the money from my account.

Dreadful dreadful company to deal with. Due to a family tragedy my Husbands business partner has to cancel his trip to Hong Kong for business - rather than waste £1,300 (flight and hotel booking) my husband phoned e-bookers to see if the flight could be changed into my name - no chance at all and no refund either. Absolute disgrace and to my mind theft of someones money.

I was terrified when I read the reviews on ebookers after I bought my ticket. i noticed that I had a very short connection time (35min) in Budapest. Although I couldn't change the flight it all worked out well. The costumer service was very good but because of British airways they couldn't change the ticket, And indeed there was no need to. Overall, I didn't have any problem with them. Also when the phone line got disconnected they called me back.
