Do not buy the Land Rover Freelander a piece of garbage. I bought one in 2001 and on 51000 miles, just when the warranty expired the transmision died. I had to replace it with a brand new transmission and pay 5000 dollars.

This is my second Freelander, I had to part ex the first due to a leaking rear door seal, and the Diff , which would cost over £1000. The door seal had been replaced by Freelander 3 times, yet water still continued to pour in
    I bought a 52 reg, and my head gasket has blown at 27000 miles. A c ...

Purchased the Land Rover Freelander new after 3 months on waiting list! Must admit to being initially disappointed with a long list of small niggles, all of which were repaired under warranty, but did not expect this from a £20K car and BMW involvement in Land Rover!

I must have been lucky ...

This Land Rover Freelander 1.8EXi 5 door 4x4 is one poorly built motor car. There are too many negatives to list here, suffice to say do your homework before considering a purchase. This car is best left in the garage.

We bought our used Land Rover Freelander 1.8EXi 5 door 4x4 through a Landrover dealer two and a half years ago when we found out we were pregnant with our first child - it seemed like a fun but practical option. We couldn't have been more wrong given that it seems to be in the garage or on the back ...

We bought our Land Rover Freelander London M25 XEI 4x4 from new, it has never been off road and has always been serviced and maintained by Land Rover dealerships. So we have been astounded by the level of problems we have encountered with the car, so far the following have been replaced:

    Gearbox ...

Today this Land Rover Freelander 1.8EXi 5 door 4x4 is officially the worst vehicle I have owned in 25 years of motoring. My wife just rang to tell me it's broken down again - according to the recovery guy, this time it appears that the catalytic converter has collapsed. I suppose that's something ne ...

My much loved Land Rover Freelander 1.8EXi 5 door 4x4 blew a head gasket recently in addition to needing a new clutch, exhaust system, heat shield and back bearings. I purchased the car eighteen months ago from a dealership and totally bought into the advertising - reliability, safety and going on f ...

The head blew on my Land Rover Freelander 1.8EXi at 40k! One month out of warranty, Land Rover won't touch it due to a dodgy service at a non Land Rover 4x4 centre, the lack of work done at the service meant that the service schedule had not been maintained and so we were not elligable for assistanc ...
