Our son used (with our permission) our debit card to purchase web hosting for a blog site he has set up and wanted to move to fasthosts form another provider. The transfer didnt go through because of some system prob or something and as such he had to renew with his old web host for fear of losing the domain name as fasthosts hadnt sorted out the issue. “Unreliable hosting, woeful costomer service.”

The shared hosting is woeful. Sites are slow and service frequently interrupted. Error 500s are very common — I ran very basic, common php/mySql CMSs like Wordpress and phpBB and was plagued with them. Fasthosts best response was, to paraphrase, 'this is what shared hosting is like, deal with it.' That was the last straw. “PLEASE DO NOT USE - Horrible, nasty company”

They have on two occasions auto-renewed services that I can't use. The domain in both cases expired by they still billed me for the webhosting and then the email. When I spoke to them 1 business day after the auto-renew and tried to explain I didn't want the services and I couldn't use them - they refused to refund. “Fasthost - Worst Web hosting”

This is one of the worst and most unprofessional web hosting comapny you could even deal with. Having been their customer for many years now, I cannot describe how bad their service is now and how they mess you around forever especially if you ever decide to close hosting. Avoid at all costs. They will take you for a ride. I phoned them and asked for hosting, they gave me hosting that did not work on the application that was using. 4 days later, after much faffing I phoned back and asked to cancel, seeing as it just wasn’t working …. oh NO NO, you have to pay us for a full years contract, they said …. “I was too late in cancelling..so now I pay another year..”

I did not cancel my subscription in time so now I am paying another year. After speaking to an extremely aggressive and intimidating customer services on the phone I am left shaking from the shock and feeling quite upset. They do not take into account any explanation and there is no leeway for reducing subscription or length. “Support Staff Hung Up After Unexpected Bills”

I was going to write about my crappy experience trying to get a refund from Fasthosts after billing me without notification although the recurring billing tool was not showing any recurring bills, but the reviews here explain it all. “Unlawful Billing Methods”

I used fasthosts over 2 years ago, they had a security breach and changed my password. I could not access my account. As I could not not access my account I could not update my credit card details as I did not update my credit card details on time due to their mistake they penalised with me a £20 charge. “DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY - RIP-OFF MERCHANTS”

This company's service and attitude is truly shocking. Once they have your money, that's it - you WILL not receive the service you paid for; requests to support are (eventually) replied to with a standard response saying the issue is resolved (which it never is), and then complaints or requests for a refund are ignored. “Seriously shocking”

After 3 days of trying to get a problem with passwords resolved, and at least 6 conversations with call centre staff in (I think Philipines), I've had enough and closing down my account with them. They are okay to use when no problems, but when they try "upgrading" your account for free....the process was a shambles. Well, ignoring the extensive downtime due to security problems, extensive email downtime a few times this year (literally 3 days with no email), oh, and ignoring the outsourced support to India where staff only work from scripts, and the slow (if at all) response to support via email, my main issues were with their slow servers (particularly when using php pages). “Fasthosts.co.uk is a joke”

This is the worst and most unreliable email hosting we have ever used in over 15 years of hosting corporate email! fasthosts.co.uk is down once a month. No pattern. We run 50 email boxes – 11 go down one month for 3 days. Then the next month 5 go down for 48 hours. Yet their website says no servers are down!… Read Full Review

We have had our website down today 29/05/2011 since 0711. As of 29/05/2011 1439 our website is STILL down. After 4 calls to the support centre, they failed to; notify us of a problem, give us an idea of time to resolve and offer any sympathy. Unfortunately we are in a que thats it tough! For £72 PCM!
