    The broadband activation went smoothly, but they will not give me a migration (MAC) code, so I cannot move to another provider without downtime.

    If I had known that FastHosts had such restrictive policies then I would not have signed up to them.

    When FastHosts IS up and running, it is nice and fast, but it goes down too often, with a "Service Unavailable" message. Give it a few minutes (or hours) and it works fine again.     FastHosts operate a policy that does not provide MAC codes to transfer between broadband providers. Be aware of this if you sign up to their broadband service, as it means that you'll have cancel your current contract before getting a new provider.
