I have worked in most of them, and therefore I had to eat in many of them as well. Very Unfortunate. Most food at La Tasca is not prepared fresh and and they are cooked or reheated in Microwaves. So, diners always have a choice of eating microwaved or fried food. I could not even bring myself to eat the free staff food that we were given. It just does not taste nice except the freshly cooked paella sharers. But, still the flavour and standard of them still are not up to the standards of a... (read more)

Absolutely terrible food. Bland and tasteless. The 'paella' seemed to be pre-cooked and then microwaved Batchelors savoury rice with no taste, the potatas bravas were lukewarm and the 'spicy' sauce was not remotely spicy. The battered fish was OK, made me wish I'd gone for tea at a chip-shop instead! The meatballs tasted like they were made with beef that was on the turn, consequently I didn't eat them. The chicken croquettes.... Well, Trade Descriptions Act anyone? They were basically... (read more)

Overcooked yet cold and extremely bland. A great disappointment, each dish sent back as it was just too cold, we then get a complementary dessert of what must have been reheated stale churros. On the positive side, excellent staff, good service, and very apologetic - maybe it was a one-off occurrence, but once too many for me. (read more)

I have dined in La Tasca a few times in the restaurants near Oxford Street and near Covent Garden in London. We usually order some tapas and then the paella for two. I totally loved the food, very well prepared and very delicious, the service we had was immaculate, friendly and helpful staff, the prices are reasonable for central London, the atmosphere is very pleasant, the restaurants were clean and tidy, so were the bathrooms. All in all I really enjoy La Tasca and would definately go... (read more)

As there are quite a few negative reviews about La Tasca on here, thought I should report a good experience of La Tasca in Kingston last night.
We turned up mostly because we had a 50% off voucher - always a bonus, and I have to say that at full price it might be a bit over-priced (but then I'm a cheap-skate)!
However, though the place was busy, we were found a pleasant table outside (by the river), and served quickly with a selection of tapas which, while not perhaps what you would get... (read more)

I have dined so many times at La Tasca in London and will be coming there very often when there is a chanse. The place has a great price-quality ratio and wonderful atmosphere. You don't have to be an expert in spanish cuisine to order something at La Tasca, but merely relax and enjoy almost everything in their menu. Starters and main meals have the same size and similar in price, and that's what makes it so special, to have 3-4 different and delicious meals, combine them so that they would... (read more)

My first and only visit to La Tasca in Solihull. Paella, dried rice with a few peas and bits of carrot, Croquetas de pollo - supposed to be chicken and was is fact mashed potato with chicken flavouring deep fried in batter. Salad, a few bits of lettuce and cucumber. All dishes were approximately £5. each. It was all a big rip off. We left with a feeling that we had been 'had'. No wonder the restaurant has to give away money off tokens for people to go there. Avoid at all costs.
I wish... (read more)

The recent menu changes at La Tasca are a disappointment. When they advertise paella why fob customers off with long grain rice, a cheap alternative and an insult to any Spaniard, not to mention against the trade description. The batter for the gambas garbardina, is now a cheap 'Farmfoods style' alternative. The light beer style batter was far more authentic. The patatas bravas is now far from 'brave' and is nothing more than a tin of tomatoes thrown on potatoes.

Just visited La Tasca on Greek Street in Leeds. I have to say that the service was quite good - our Autralian waiter from Perth was excellent! However the food was terrible. The paella should have been done under the trade descriptions act. Its was greasy, it had been cooked on an oven, they had used tumeric instead of saffron BUT - the worst thing was that they used black (Maybe squid) ink to colour the bottom of the paella pan to simulate the burnt/crunchy bottom that is the best bit of an... I love tapas but La Tasca shouldn't be allowed to use the word- the food we had in the Tring branch in July was the worst I've ever had and would make a Spanish person weep. 'Paella' like a boil-in-the-bag frozen job, squid rings grey and rubbery, the meat in the meatballs tasted so awful we wondered if it was off and left them, and the Spanish omelette was also grey ( a bit of a theme) and dry as cardboard. They charged £1 for bread! The children's menu 'generously' allowed 'one scoop' of... (read more)
