Just visited La Tasca on Greek Street in Leeds. I have to say that the service was quite good - our Autralian waiter from Perth was excellent! However the food was terrible. The paella should have been done under the trade descriptions act. Its was greasy, it had been cooked on an oven, they had used tumeric instead of saffron BUT - the worst thing was that they used black (Maybe squid) ink to colour the bottom of the paella pan to simulate the burnt/crunchy bottom that is the best bit of an… Read Full Review

I love tapas but La Tasca shouldn't be allowed to use the word- the food we had in the Tring branch in July was the worst I've ever had and would make a Spanish person weep. 'Paella' like a boil-in-the-bag frozen job, squid rings grey and rubbery, the meat in the meatballs tasted so awful we wondered if it was off and left them, and the Spanish omelette was also grey ( a bit of a theme) and dry as cardboard. They charged £1 for bread! The children's menu 'generously' allowed 'one scoop' of ice… Read Full Review

La Tasca bristol Cabot circus. Lunch . The food was in general poor but edible. The deep fried prawn dish was good. However the bread dish was like a findus frozen pizza, the chorizo tasted reheated a number of times and the paella was just rice. We ate , we were hungry. The main problem was the price 4-5 pounds per tapas plate . We actually counted what we got for our money. Prawns £1.25 per prawn, 4 in the dish. Olives 30p each, ten in dish . Did not count the rice , paella dish, but probably… Read Full Review

Have been to the Durham branch twice, and recieved good, if a little slow, service and good food. So we decided to try the branch in York - a big mistake. The food took well over an hour to arrive, much of it was cold and fairly bland, the service was terrible - none of the waiters wanted to be there and we never saw the same face twice! Will not be going again… Read Full Review

Inconsistent is the best I can say. We have had pretty good, acceptable and terrible food at a variety of La Tasca restaurants, and worse in the same meal. Our local La Tasca is one of the better ones so we do go back, but it is a bit of a lottery … Read Full Review

Very unsatisfactory meal at La Tasca. my girlfriend and I went to La Tasca for the first itme in years. It will be several more years before I go again!
Initially, the bread was slightly stale. Not a great start. Then, the paella arrived. Seafood paella. It had 2 musslels in it, one peice of squid, and a limp prawn. That was it!
The mixed salald was okay- if bland. It was mising the advertised egg though. The tiger prawns though! Yuk!!! hey were just mushy, horrible things. We sent them back… Read Full Review

Recently visited La Tasca in Derby for the first time. Not being well versed in Spanish food, I was really looking forward to trying something different. One of our party of four had got a BOGOF voucher for the Tapas to Share menu, so it seemed like a good deal. What a disappointment! We had booked a table and arrived on time, only to be kept standing around by the sole waitress whilst she finished a conversation on her mobile. She did say it was the manager, but so what? Customers is… Read Full Review

Cambridge Branch of La Tasca.
I went in on Saturday the 18th of April 09. Although the restaurant was almost empty, the staff were in a panic mode for no apparent reason. they failed to serve us correctly such as missing the cutlery taking away the empty plates. they delivered the potates burnt non edible, the food was such a disaster. this is one place i will never visit again!
i have been to many la tasca before, they were all either good or excellent, this branch is absolutely rubbish!!!… Read Full Review

We went to La Tasca for Valentines lunch as we thought we could have a nice leisurely Spanish Tapas style lunch - How wrong we were!! The food was completely tasteless and we couldn't wait to get out. The only thing that tasted authentic was the Sangria. The Paella looked like Batchelors Golden savoury rice and tasted the same, the Gabas al pil pil which is supposed to taste of garlic and chilli and still be spiting when it arrives on the table tasted of neither and the oil was as still if it… Read Full Review

I'm a bit of a fan of La Tasca. I have eaten in a few branches. The one in the Trafford Centre in Manchester is nice because you enter the restaurant and you no longer feel like you are in a large shopping mall. I've had a few good meals in the one on Deansgate, Manchester as well. This branch can be pretty busy on Saturday nights though as they don't (or at least they didn't last time I went) accept bookings and people also go there for a drink as well as to eat. I have also visited the… Read Full Review

We went to La Tasca with a 50% off voucher and thank goodness we did, there is no way I would have paid full price.
Before I even get on to the food we were asked to move table twice, as friendly as our waiter was, being asked to move for the second time just as your food arrives is seriously poor effort.
Unappetising bread, tiny portions (yes I know its tapas but still...) TERRIBLE prawns, DRY chicken and HUGE salt crystals sprinkled far too liberally over all dishes.

The food was tepid, no plates were offered and we had to chase up extra drinks and bill. Server apologised and said he should have laid table before we sat and as we had hardly eaten anything offered a 20% discount. Shame as it looks so inviting but we would not venture in again.

This restaurant was among the low points of my visit to the east coast. If I was more familiar with the area, I'd recommend a better place for ethnic food... Actually, even without knowing the area, I can still do that: Taco Bell. Though they might lose out in the cleanliness aspect… Read Full Review

As a local of Fulham, I'd always wanted to eat in this lovely bit of Fulham that La Tasca occupies.
Unfortunately, they did not have the choice of drinks that were on the menu - the beer choice was extremely limited - and the waitress was unsure whether the wine we ordered was available but offered to get us any Rose!
We ordered Chorizo in red wine and chicken skewers as a starter. I thought the Chorizo in red wine was disappointing, both the chorizo and the sauce were beyond bland. The chicken… Read Full Review

We have been twice to the Windsor branch and enjoyed our meals, the food was a little on the slow side but dishes were good or great so made up for it. We found it quite hard to get the waiters / resses attention at times but I assumed they were busy in the kitchen..shame as really fancied a 2nd glass of wine last time! Amazing how they appear when you stand up to leave though!!
The battered prawns are gorgeous and fluffy and food has always been piping hot.
Definitely one of the better chain… Read Full Review
