Having bought the original Tom Tom Go, I had connection problems, with the satellites and docking system, but over all it worked very well, and as I do about 30,000 miles a year I became very dependant. I love the TomTom Go, after doing a small piece of engineering work on the home power supply it now out performs all aspirations I personaly had for it. When I first got the 510 I connected it to my computer and installed the software, whilst doing this I connected the power supply conector and noticed I had to push it into the socket, and hold it there with some considereable force for it to charge the battery. I had real trouble connecting to the Internet with the TomTom Go 510 I bought. The unit was loose on the docking station. The screen froze constantly and had to be reset by inserting a very small pin into the unit reset button. I never got my unit into the car as I had so much trouble, I decided to return it for a refund. (read more)

I have owned a Magellan GPS unit and I have a Garmin Street pilot, a GO 300 and now a GO 910 and the GO 910 is by far the best one. We have just returned from Millau to see the "Millau Viaduct" and relied on only our GO 910 to get us there, find us accommodation en-route, find us cash-points, restaurants, and shops etc. It did not let us down once. I had great expectations of my TomTom Go 510 sat nav and it has given me the confidence to leave the town where I live and work. I have now enjoyed many days out with my young daughter without having to wait for my husband to take me! Make sure you put it away after use, as I and many of my friends have had their Tom Tom stolen from outside the house. (read more)

I don't think you can beat TomTom on versatility and all the additional functions it offers over the others. The list of features with the 510 are brilliant and especially love the fact you can walk with it - great for the next time I go on holiday and worry that I may not be able find where I left the car! Very disappointed as had high hopes within the first 24 hrs, but thereafter there were big problems with the cradle which supplies power. I took it back to the retailer and was told it was a common fault, 30% have been returned with same problem. On the lookout again ....any recommendations??? (read more)

I have returned one TomTom 500 already because it shut down and would not work. The second unit has now done the same but, a trawl of the web revealed that if you turn the unit upside down, in the section where the shoe clips in, at the front, there is a small hole with "Reset" on one side, and an arrow on the other. With power on, I used a paper clip and pressed into the hole and now, it works again. Amazing! (read more)

The new Tom Tom Go 910 needs a complete and serious redesign of the car windscreen mounting and low voltage car electrical contact unit. To enable a reliable connection. (this currently repeatedly fails) and so did the others in the suppliers stores!
Needs a turn type switch instead of the press on/off switch to prevent accidental switching on (causes flat batteries!)
Small thought to consider, as I met 2 occasions where there was a no entry sign, and had to make a guess where to go next as... (read more)

I have just purchased a TomTom 910 after much research and deliberation and am I glad I chose this one!!!! It is fantastic. I read some reviews that say the new mounting system is awkward, it's not, just takes a little practice. I was used to it after disconnecting twice. It is a great product & I have already pre planned my route to Eurodisney.
All it takes is an evening just going through and experimenting with the TomTom to get used to it.

I found the Tom Tom Go 300 easy to install and set up. The screen display is very good and clear especially for such a small screen. As a graphic designer I think the representational graphics are excellent, the clarity of direction in 3D mode was obvious with large arrows showing direction around awkward and complex roundabouts which are difficullt to describe aurally, although I have to admit the descriptions are well done and clear (not always completely accurate) but the graphics SHOW... I can only assume my last review was too truthful. The fact is this is nearly works technology at really works prices.......Tom Tom really don't care about customer service and will send you back to the retailers who have precious little or no knowledge of this product. Don't ever leave it on view as your car will be broken into. These are car thieves new quarry and they will gladly leave with a £1,500 repair for the £150 second hand value of your Sat Nav just hope they work better for them... (read more)

I purchased a TomTom go 700 in November, since then I have been using quite frequently due to my job nature, it has many benefits, e.g. stops you more or less outside your destination in the road, easy to use, postcode search, city, point of interest etc...
I also work for Currys customer service and I get a lot of TomTom's back, simply because people, just assume the product is faulty and do not read the manual, the issue is that TomTom's sometimes won't turn on, it will go compeletly... (read more)

The Tom Tom300 is very easy to use; compact and the visual and audio instructions to navegate are very clear. It is easy to set up just switch and go.
The TomTom online support team are great; they are very quick to respond to my questions for help and are friendly. Their response time is very fast and within an hour I got a reply. The problem wasnt with my navigation system; it was the Orange WAP service.

I bought a Tomtom 700 at Christmas. It has proved to be one of the best things I could have spent my money on. I travelled to SW France using it and saved approximately 45 minutes from the time I usually take.
I then ran into a problem in that suddenly one day, although the green power light came on, the screen remained blank. I emailed Tom Tom customer services and within 24 hours had been given instructions of resetting, which worked first time. All my original settings were intact as... (read more)

I have been trying to get TomTom Go map updates for two months. I sent an e-maill and didn't receive an answer for many days. I finally was contacted by someone and refered to someone else, but they were not helpful. There is no way I was able to find a way to phone support.
