“Avoid Opodo”

I booked 2 tickets on Opodo from France to Peru and was supposed to receive a confirmation email within 24 hours. After 3 days, I emailed them to ask whether there had been no confirmation but they didn't reply. After one week, I called them and was told that the booking had been canceled but they were not able to explain why or to justify why they had not emailed me to inform me. “Refund challenge - 3 months and counting”

after a cancelled Easyjey flight, Easyjet refunded (to Opodo France, not me) 3 days after the cancellation. I am now at 3 months, 5 emails and 4 international telephone calls and have been told 3 times that I will be repaid "within 48 hours" - with still no sign of any repayment. “They stole money from my bank account !”

I booked a flight via Opodo because it appeared to be the best price. However, when checking my bank statement, I realised they had taken much more money than the price stated at the time of payment (and stated again in the confirmation email). I feel fooled and I feel they stole money from me. When I called them (10p/min with long waiting time) to get a refund of the difference, they refused and offered no compensation. “Called to have a refundable ticket refund, employee...”

My husband is lying in a hopsital bed with memory loss. We bought a premium Air France ticket and will not be able to take the plane on the dtae of the flight. The customer service employee wants the passenger to call (I have reference number, name, birthdate, itinerary, passport number ;..)otherwise she cannot refund!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh my god!
That is the most disgusting customer service ever!
OPODO are by far the worst i have ever experienced!

I wish i had read the reviews before i had booked my holiday with them, they are appalling. I am writing a long complaint letter to their main office in leicester so collating other awful reviews of them.

I hope your husband gets better and i hope you get you money back!

As I also got a text saying the same thing I stupidly assumed this was their confirmation email. “Opodo, never again.”

I booked 4 flights to Thailand with Opodo via Cheapflights.co.uk They took the money quick enough but trying to get them to email Etickets has been a joke. I've phoned them 4 times at quite some expense (10p per minute). They just keep waffling about backlogs, blah blah blah... Now 1 week later the Etickets still haven't arrived. Used Opodo for the first time to book flights for January 2014 as the usual low cost airlines were not showing their pricing so far in advance. I accepted Opodo's quotation and proceeded to payment. I booked a flight on the French website and also subscribed their travel insurance. I requested to have a copy of the policy but Opodo couldn't provide one. I contacted the insurer directly to find out the subscribed insurance was not valid as I was not a UK resident. Thought I was booking a flight through their website, but after entering my credit card information I received an email saying that they had received my "booking request" and that I would be notified whether or not it was "successful" in 24-48 hours. After hearing nothing for 24 hours, I called them (1 hour on hold) just to be told that I need to wait the full 48 hours before contacting them to inquire about my booking. “Always good but prices not as competitive as they once...”

I have long booked flights with Opodo and have never had any problems with them. Recently though, I have found their prices aren't as competitive as they used to be, and they seem to add on quite a few charges towards the end which inflate the overall price (though these could be imposed by the destination airport, but it would be nice to know before getting to the payment page). I recently booked a return flight to Cyprus using Opodo for Ryannair. I have received the Ryannair booking confirmation for the outbound flight but not for the inbound. “Avoid using Opodo at all costs”

Appalling customer service if you can reach them in the first place. I booked a flight through Opodo which subsequently cancelled. That was two months ago and it has taken me to be persistent to get a revised flight confirmed. I booked a ticket on OPODO in April 2013 for me and my family . 1 day before departure, I tried to print the ticket... and cant find the real electronic ticket. I cant reach the customer service because they simply make you wait over 25 min of music then hang up. Don't use this lousy company. I wanted to book a flight so I used their online booking service. It let me believe a seat was available - so I gave them my credit card details and they sent me a 'booking request confirmation'. So I don't have a confirmed seat. That was 5 days ago - still no confirmation so I don't know if I'm on the damn flight or not. Just to add insult to injury - I now find they have billed me for the flight even though they didn't provide a ticket. I think this may not just be incompetence - it could be criminal and if they do not refund the money in 24 hours I will take legal action.

I can only speak of my experience. My wife has had an emergency casarian and 9 week premature baby. I need to cancel my flights in 2 weeks from france to germany.Open and shut case, right? Well, Opodo is completely missing in action in this time of our need. I've sent a number of emails and even used their online contact service. No response. “What a time waster , never again !”

Near one year ago I've made the mistake of booking a return flight Iasi-Bucharest Bucharest-Heathrow for my mum with Tarom through Opodo . After 7 months and over 20 exchanged emails they're telling me , for the third time, than my airline (Tarom) has cancelled one of the chosen flights and that I have to agree on a different one instead.
