Booked through Expedia for our February 2010 vacation. Had no problem, even when the airline merged, Expedia kept us up to date on all the flight number changes.
They responded immediately to any queries I made & found them to be very helpful.

Tried to book vacation package to Cancun and after going thru the entire process of choosing flights and hotels, at the end, it said that the flights are not available. I chose different flights and it's the same thing. I came back the next day and did the same thing and the same flights are still listed as available, but at checkout they wouldn't book it because the flights are not available. COSTUMER BE AWARE!!! SCAM FROM EXPEDIA
They promise a $25 gift card when we booked a hotel just before thanksgiving 2009 and never came and when we called last January, they apologized and promise to issue $ 100 coupon that can be used for future reservation with no restrictions and yesterday (March 06, 2010) when we tried to make hotel reservation and use that coupon, they said that we only have $50 coupon and only valid for certain hotel!!! which is a lot more expensive even with that… Read Full Review

The customer service of Expedia is terrible! If you run into problems they will not help you at all. After 5 hours on the phone talking to 5 different people, all I got was the phone number for the airline's customer service people! I have traveled using Expedia several times before. I used Expedia for many years and everything was more or less ok. There prices were rather competitive (not always though). They stored mine and my family members' info, so it helped to expedite the booking. BE CAREFUL!!!!! DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION!!! They tell you they need your credit card just to hold the reservation, and will ONLY charge your card after you confirm your trip....BUT, once they get your credit card information, they keep billing the card for the FULL AMOUNT of the trip even after you tell them you decided not to book with them!!! I would never recommend this agency to anyone. I have had several nightmare bookings with Expedia which were never resolved. I lost my money and loads of time and I have learnt my lesson now. Never use them again.
The first involved a hotel room booking at a Hotel that did not exist !! I will never EVER use Expedia again. I booked tickets for Disney Resort Paris for September 2010 and only after making a payment you will receive a link to print off a voucher on which you are told that this voucher is only valid for 6 months!!! This information the customer should get before purchasing anything!! Now it is not even possible to cancel anything!!!

I will never use Expedia again. I usually book through Orbitz and, for the most part, I have a pretty smooth experience, but I decided to use Expedia because a) I thought it was pretty much the same, albeit with a poorly designed user interface, b) because I wanted to get ThankYou points (through Citibank) for the purchase.

This website pprice promise is not living up to its promise. I found another price thats way lower than their advertised price on booking.com. So, i called them up. The condition said "if price is displayed in nz dollars" So i booking.com showed the nz dollar amt. Then the customer rep said because i will ultimately not be charged in nz dollar, i can't claim it. I checked out of my motel a day early. It has taken a week and nearly 3.5 hours on hold to get a refund. I was hung up on twice. There is no excuse for this. I will never use expedia again. They contacted the motel and confirmed that I had checked out early. But since the motel manager was unavailable they refused to process a refund. I booked a flight for my daughter and friend with Expedia. Long story short. I booked them to come home on Wed. the day before she was to come home I called airline to confirm, they should her coming home on Friday. My itenerary and confirmation showed Wed. because of weather (blizzard conditions-airline canceled our flight) we were not able to stay at a hotel in philadelphia, pa on feb 6, 2010.
Called the hotel to let them know of our situation. Called expedia to let them know of our situation. Still having to pay for the room we are UNABLE to use. Expedia! I needed to change 2 letters on the name of a flight I booked due to a slight spelling mistake. This cost be £30, plus a 2/3 hour phone call on a premium number. The airline told me they had no problems with the name change and that it was donw to expedia as I booked through them. Expedia made a huge thing out of it. I booked a flight for my sister-in-law. The day she flew to my house was correct. I didn't know her return flight day was wrong until after a week. She had come as my husband had just passed away.
