I had booked two flight tickets, but early in the morning on the flight day, I realised at the airport that there were no such tickets booked for me! I barely and expensively found another ticket, and later wrote to Expedia about this issue, but of course, they did their best not to answer my questions. I had an incredibly stressful and frustrating experience with Expedia.

I have just spent the entire weekend trying to book a hotel and flight with Expedia. For the past few years I have always booked via internet travel sites, and I have not stepped near a high street travel agency. Dealing with Expedia was honestly the worst, most frustrating experience I have ever had with an internet travel company.

I've had some poor experiences with Expedia (www.expedia.com), on the third morning of my trip I was presented with a bill for breakfast 30 euros per day, even though we had all relevant paperwork there was nothing in it to prove that we were B&B, nothing in it to prove we weren't either, just not mentioned (although the mini bar & phone calls were). Expedia can save you money, but you still really need to research the destinations and possible flights/routes yourselves as Expedia do not cover all the information in enough detail to guarantee that you get what you expect. For instance my initial chioce of Hotel stated parking available nearby. In fact the nearest open public car park was 15 minutes walk away down a busy steep hill at £10 / day.

Expedia is one of the worst experiences I ever had.
They messed up a flight change to New Zealand by forgetting to change the 2nd leg of the journey, and from there we were left out in the cold. Endless phonecalls, poorly trained staff, some of them can barely speak decent English,
47 minute waits on a payline,its a shambolic experience.

I booked with Expedia three months ago to fly to Manchester and stay in a city centre hotel. Two days before departure they ring and say there has been a mistake and the hotel is over booked. They move us to an airport hotel. I rang and told them if i wanted an airport hotel I would have booked one three months ago. Their delays in contacting me and sorting the problem meant that all city centre hotels are now booked up.

We booked six hotels for a touring holiday of California with Expedia. The information on each hotel was good. The booking confirmation came within minutes and the prices were good.
When we arrived at each hotel, no paperwork was required. In four out of six of the hotels we were upgraded.
With this type of service I wonder how travel agents will survive.

If it was booked through Expedia, then Expedia should be responsible for it. Why go to the airport? Maybe it was a misinformation from the representative. Have you called them back? Have you talked to an Expedia Supervisor?

When searching for flights to Thailand I found that Expedia offered the best fares by quite some way. I booked the flights and was sent a confirmed itinerary. Less than a month before departure I received an email informing me that my return flight had been brought forward 12 hours. No apology was made for this alteration. Beware of Travel packages that Expedia sells.
I recently travelled to Boston and bought a 2 way ticket (4 legs all different airlines) and then realized it was not really a package and one could not even check their luggage in. Worst of all the airlines departed from different terminals and we almost missed our flight because of this. They just search for lowest prices and combine them and call it a package.

2 way tickets are customized flight itinerary made by a travel agency. It is already understood that it is not how connecting flights do (that you check your luggage in and the airline will just take care of transferring them to your next plane)
