I got my 8310 late last year (dec 02) after my 5210. And ive got to say, im impressed... the nokia 8310 is just like a color phone, exept of course, its got no color, n no polyphonic ringtone. But if there is any phone that comes close to a color phone, it has to be the nokia8310. I also like the fact that u can add multiple entries to someones name in the phone book, n how u can add lil pictures (mobile, home, office etc.) It is a good phone! :)… Read Full Review

I "graduated" to a Nokia 8310 from the older 8210. Its main selling point was really its size. I wanted a phone that I could bring with me on nights out which would fit comfortably and inconspicuously into my trouser pocket. The 8310 does just that. It is a nice size phone, with decent reception and enough features to get you through, although it won't blow the minds of any technophiles. I have had it for over a year now so feel able to comment on it reasonably dispassionately.
Firstly, don't… Read Full Review

bought 2 nokia 8310s in january one for me one for my girlfriend, her phone worked ok except it kept saying "allow sim action" press a key says "how are you" sounds funny but very annoying after a while. my phone drops signal cant make call with less than 2 bar signal or gaurenteed to be cut off! put phone in pocket pull it out few hours later to find it saying "sim card failed" turn it off and back on works fine,(not much use as a mobile phone when it wont ring as sim card failed.) sent it of… Read Full Review

This is the worst phone I have ever owned. It is very close to being "Unfit for purpose intended", alledgedly. If you want to be cut off, loose all your call list, have no signal and just want to be annoyed, all very regularly, then get one of these. Thankfully, I've now destroyed mine and am using my trusted 3210, yes, 3210!… Read Full Review

I have owned my Nokia 8310 for quite a while now and i have had LOADS of problems with it, First it kept switching off, so it was sent away, came back, still turned off only to come back on saying "please insert SIM" so it got sent away again, then came back, Only to find that it didnt want to charge, so off it went again, came back, no problems for 3 weeks, (thought it was heaven on earth) then......... the screen decided not to want to work, so it was off again, to come back having been… Read Full Review

I've heard here and there terrible stories about this great phone's software stability, but so far(i bought it 4 months ago)i must consider myself very lucky...no problems at all. Software version is 5.80,for those interested on the subject. Reception and features are better than good, compared to, say,Motorola V50. On the other hand, is true in my oppinion that Nokia phones are usually too expensive, but one can always wait a little...I got mine for 249 Euros which is quite reasonable. Great… Read Full Review

Immensely annoying. I know a lot of people who have these Nokia 8310, and everyone has had problems. The model they replaced had software problems, and as usual Nokia replaced it with another one just as bad. The problems didn't start straightaway, but have got continuously worse. It turns off when you are trying to reply to an email, and periodically shows a message that the sim card needs to be inserted. Nokia phones seem to be getting progressively worse as each new model comes out. The 8310… Read Full Review

I was very happy to get this phone when it came out and enjoyed listening to the radio which was very handy. All the other features worked well. However the phone would often shut itself down, and crash. A couple of friends also experienced this with theirs as well. Some got replacements but still the same happened. My contract is up this month and I will be getting a new mobile but not a Nokia… Read Full Review

The Nokia 8310 is the worst Nokia phone I have had. So far I have had 2 replaced under insurance and now my third phone is breaking again. I get insert sim card when it is in, phone turns itself off, wont switch off at time and is just awful. When the phone works it is great but avoid it like the plague!… Read Full Review

I was pleased with the 8310 for about 5 mins until I had to replace it again and again and again. Although there are some good points about this phone the bad easily out way the good. The phone has been a total nightmare for me and has even cost me work due to its unreliability. This phone has caused me to leave Nokia after many years of having Nokia phones. I wouldn't recommend you buy this phone as it has many problems which still haven't been sorted. Try a cup and string as it is… Read Full Review

Be warned any of you who might rely on your mobile for your business and social lives. This morning my 8310 has decided to erase all of the stored phone numbers. It is going to be a major task to track down many of those numbers and then I'll not be able to trust the phone as an address book ever again.
A phone which can't be relied upon for number store and retrieval is USELESS.
I promised not to buy NOKIA again after going through FIVE phones in 6 months, which didn't work (mostly screen… Read Full Review

This is the fourth Nokia I've owned since 1996. I've always preferred Nokia because their user interface is so well designed. However, this model is so badly made it doesn't matter how well designed it is! The overall product is simply appalling. The 8310 is cheap, flimsy and unreliable… Read Full Review

Basically, if thise phone didn't crash, it would be the best phone in the world. i got mine when it came out and it crashes so much it's affected the battery life which is now only a day to 2 days long
This is the best looking phone i've ever had. I had a 5110 and a 7110 before and this one is much nicer than both. It's small and fits in any pocket anywhere. I have had it for 13 months and still have the same fascia it came with because to be quite honest, all the unofficial… Read Full Review

The Nokia 8310 is good, but realy theres a big problem in that the phone seems to cut off everytime I send a text message. It then says 'insert sim' even though the sim is obviously in the phone!!! My mate has also had the same problem with his phone so I have a feeling its a bug or fault when Nokia made it.
Its got a radio, but I never use it. I never saw the point in having a radio on a mobile phone to be honest. If I wanted to listen to music Id just put my personal stereo on.
Other than… Read Full Review

I have had loads of Nokias, I replaced a Samsung T100 with the 8310. Colour screens and fancy tones are O.K short term but at the end of the day Nokia are the best!! User friendly, good reception and great battery life, easy texting. I must admit some features are worse than the 8210 I have previously owned but others are way better. Colour screens are a fad!!! (garbage to view in sunlight for example) Polyphonic tones ok to listen to after you have got them, These are not necessary!!!! Nokia… Read Full Review

The nokia 8310 has a range of covers that is outstanding and it can be changed to suit your personality. It has advances tones, messaging, gaming and stacks more. It even has a built in radio. What can I say this phone is one of the best little Nokias I have had the pleasure of owning. It's small, neat, has tonnes of changable covers and it's a breeze to use. I like the extra message memory and the radio. I like the buttons which are easy to press and use and I like the Nokia layout of the phone, so easy to navigate. The only thing wrong with this phone it is not colour and the screen does look outdated but what is impressive is that this phone still sells at quite a high price… Read Full Review
