“Wrong Car After Booking On Website”

Arrived at the Birkenhead branch on the wirral only to be told that what I had prebooked 3 days before had been rented to somone who got there at 11 oclock( I was due at 12) Offered a far poorer car and the biggest loads of lies I have ever heard, This is just down to poor management and greed in the branch, there is no point booking a car you might as well just rock up on the day and let them give you what you want, I will not accept we are busier than normal as a valid excuse. “Rip off”

I have just rented a car from birmingham airport from 26 fed to 3 march great car great price i had paid the extra 9 pounds something a day to reduce the excess to 100 pounds when we checked the car out the guy showed me around the bodywork.but not the glass the car was a bit dirty outside i had to wipe a couple of black marks with my finger just to make sure they were not scratches the windows were also covered in specs of dirt but as the weather was bad this was not a problem to me. After several phone calls back to the birmingham office and last night a call to the head office in the states the regional manager has just phoned me and has refunded my deposit back the only problem i still have is they have taken 2 payments from my bank but sm waiting to see if that corrects itself

Hi
I have now been refunded the 100 pounds keped for the incorrect reasons also the first payment for the car was refunded many thanks to sam the regional manager.
I will use enterprise again but not Birmingham uk airport the staff need more lessons in customer care i must say gatwick uk staff were 1st class as were east midlands airport.
The thing that does worry me is that 7 people in my small town have also been charged by enterprise for the same thing which was not checked at delivery may i say that as well as showing people the car bodywork they should also show people around the glass work

I''m convinced it's all part of their training, almost same thing happened to me, see my review at the “Tricks of the trade”. It's no coincidence that same stories keeping popping up with almost identical scenario and staff going straight to the fault.

This company needs investigating.

Picked up van to move my sister, all seemed fine on walk round so paid hire fee plus optional insurance with my credit card. Upon returning van to BODMIN branch, lo and behold they found a small dent in the sill underneath step on the side panel door. It wasn't even possible to see unless you bent right down and inspected really closely as it was on the underside of the step, and yet the guy went straight to it. I am a first time customer at Enterprise Rent A car- I was in between buying cars. They took £300 for the hire car rental, plus a £220 deposit whichwas SUPPOSED to be refunded ‘the £300 included the additional £11 per day which is supposed to waiver my excess from a ridiculous £700 to £100 in the event of an accident’ I was shown the car. Yeah, once they have your credit care details they jack you up and just take what they want, I don't understand how they can get away with it. If you read the reviews it's the same story up and down the country. Had I of seen this site before I used Enterprise, I'd be £350 better off and as I only have a pension it's a lot of money to lose.

“Chipped windscreen ”

Redridge, Southampton. Hired a car for the weekend. Everything was initially good with the car (in wet conditions) before driving away. Driving away I noticed the two chips on the motorway (when the rain had cleared) A lady checked the car over with me. Returning the car to them they picked out two chips on the front windscreen taking half of my deposit. Yes i seem to have the same problem with enterprise they have witheld 100 pounds off of my card has they said i had chipped the windscreen , strange how the girl checking it in went first to the front window !!! The car was not clean when i took it out you would not have seen this unless you cleaned it with a cloth first rip off company at birmingham airport

I was forced to rent a car when my own car broke down during the first days of 2014 while I was supposed to have a great holiday near Winchester. I could not have wished for a better service. I am not joking, they were short of staff and they still managed to find me a 2013 Nissan Juke in spotless condition to use straight away. Leicester Loughborough road branch they are here to ripe off ppl, just for a tinny chip which was repairable they charged me £216 and all the staff was telling different stories.... “why you shouldn't choose enterprise.”

First of all, I reserved my car 6 days in advance so I could use it for my long weekend with my friends. I even called them a day before to make sure if they have my car in ready for the day I will be renting; and they said it's ready for the pickup. I was super excited until I faced the problem on the day of pick up; they didn't have my car. “Dishonest”

Beside the cost of the car hire, they add costs to insure the car and the excess can be as high as £1000. They offer to cover the excess at a high cost. The cost is about 5 times higher than external insurance companies. If you decline to take this extra cover, you are indeed,in trouble. When you return the car, they will go through the cat like a fine tooth comb and invariably find some fault and exercise their right to charge the excess, as high as £1000, to your credit card. “Chatham! left hand doesn't know what the right hand's...”

After ringing for a costing of hire for the weekend and being told £80, we went ahead with the booking, when my husband went to pick the car up it turned out that there were all sort's of extra's to pay for, ie excess,ok we could understand that as we have hired cars before so kinda expected that, even though it was not mentioned on the phone,there was a charge for an added driver, also not mentioned on the phone, to cut a long story short, we had to pay £332 as they also took a £200 deposit… Read Full Review

“Ripped off”

I hired a car from hamburg airport for one week. Unfortunatley, it received a small ding in the wheel arch whilst parked in a service station minutes from the pickup. When I returned the car I explained the situation and felt reassured by Enterprise that although I would be charged the full 750 Euros access I would be re-embursed for money not used and that was the last I heard. My car had to go in for mechanical repair. and i needed a car for 08:00 the following day.I was contacted by the local branch of enterprise, the day before, to be told that their office doesn't open until 08:00. Rented in Glasgow 24 sept, 20131, returned in edinburgh(central) 6 oct. Did not like assigned car, so was given another, but with no inspection process. Next day I noticed a slight dent on rear side bumper that had been fixed and painted( by a customer?). Immediately sent a fax to Glasgow office explaining the situation. Returned car to Edn. My license is not a full year until the 13th of Feb so I was finding it really hard. Until i came across this little gem of company. I called the helpline and a very friendly girl i think Beth was her name sorted out the reservation for me and everything and went through what to expect as this is my first time to hire a car. Just in case you don't see my comment, I think he's celebrating too early as initial phone contact and pick up is a dream, it's when you return the car you realise you've been jacked up, ripped off and totally stuffed. Read the rest of the reviews, everyone can't be lying, it's disgusting.

Nope Nannywonga i got to stansted airport found the car rental very easily, it was lashing outside and their rep met me at the end of the poly tunnel with an umbrella, brought me to the car rental storage asked what i drive at home (a Golf) and a golf was giving to me. Returned it early on Sunday morning to a pleasant but tired Rep who did the once over gave the keys back and proceeded to the airport, three days later the deposit was in my account again. Then again people do only complain when something bad has happened really don't they?

“Definatly wouldnt use them again”

Used this company in January 2014, only made two trips with the van with furniture and was very careful. The man who served us took a look at the van and told us if we paid an extra 15 pound, if any damage happen then you would pay £250, if we wasnt to pay that and it got damaged, would cost £850, he didnt he look at the van for two minutes, me and husband also had a look at the van and seen marks before we even drove the van, there was a mark at the back of the door that looked like someone… Read Full Review
