I needed a good van to take some heavy items to a show at the weekend,so I hired a long wheelbase van from Enterprise on May 23rd using their website, I got a very good deal 4 days for £116, at least that's what I thought. After I was picked up the salesman told me I got a very good deal, as the daily hire rate should have been £69 a day, so again, I thought that's good. I had to use Enterprise as I had my car bumped and the insurance company only use Enterprise for a courtesy vehicle. Personally I found staff totally unwilling to help if you have an issue. Always top up the vehicle yourself or they charge an extreme amount of money, £40 for a quarter tank!!! “Intransigent staff”

I arranged a rental vehicle with Enterprise this morning. They are conveniently close, and though I retired due to disability last year after being knocked off my motorcycle, my former company has had an account with Enterprise for a number of years. “Nightmare Experience!”

Picking up the van I received great service, however whilst driving it on the motorway the tyre blew from beneath me. I was lucky that I didn't crash (for my own safety and probably for the cost of the damage). Unluckily for me it was a bank holiday Monday! Having hired cars around the world was horrified to be told on collecting an Enterprise car this weekend that the excess was £700. Having asked the state of local roads I was told these were awful; actually some of the best roads that I have ever driven on. “Do not use!”

I rented a car from Enterprise Car Rental at Heathrow Airport during a family holiday recently. There were no problems during the rental, but I did notice that they were very keen to sell me the "extended" insurance which would reduce my excess from £700 to £100. i was considering hiring a car from this company...but now reading the entire spectrum of reviews and predominantly bad reviews i will not even consider using enterprise as a car rental company..i dont want my company to fall into any kind of disrepute primarily caused by this companies policies of ripping people blatantly off.
i myself have found that the staff are belligerent and not willing to help after the fact.
KEEP WELL AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY THEY ARE HERE TO FABRICATE AND RIP GENUINE AND DECENT PEOPLE OF THEIR HARD EARN MONEY.

“Newcastle Airport Enterprise is Terrible!”

Rented a compact car from them at 8:30am on the 19th of May for a quick one day business trip. Received a Toyota Aurus in good condition from them aside from door dings, and several paint dings along the bumper and wing guards. I wanted to follow up on the customer service I received after posting this review. Enterprise contacted me and worked expeditiously to reach an amicable resolution to the issue. “No mention of £850 excess when booking”

In order to move house, we rented a long wheel base van for a week from the Sidcup branch as it seemed the best rate available online. Even though we only lived in Bromley, the highly-advertised pickup service was not available. Worse, it was only when my husband went to collect the van - basically the point of no return as it would have been too late to hire a van from somewhere else - that we were informed there was an £850 excess. The quoted price was very competitive. There were no problems picking the car up — the car was ready and branch staff were helpful and polite. “Tricks of the trade”

I rented a car for 4 days, as an interim measure between scrapping my old car and taking receipt of my new car. I was picked up (late) and taken to the office in Stockton, we did a vehicle check and I signed all necessary paperwork. I have had exactly the same experience with ENTERPRISE. I borrowed a car and after returning it - when no one checked the car with me, they called me, saying to me that they had found a small, almost invisible dent above the rear wing. They deducted 700 pounds from my account and left me powerless because I couldnt see the car any more to make sure if they were right.

When calling them later, trying to ensure if the repair would cost 700 pounds or more, or potentially less so I could have some money refunded, I found it difficult to deal with them. After a long process I was given a phone number to a particular guy I was supposed to call. When I tried, I repeatedly couldnt get through.

I am thinking about taking some legal action against their way of dealing with customers, particularly when they did not let me see the car asap after telling me about the alleged damage and deducting money from my account.

I advise everybody who would like to borrow a car from ENTERPRISE not to do it and look around for any other car rental company.

Hi Puentes, don't let then get away with this, I wrote to my MP and he wrote a letter to head office, I made a lot of noise on social media, I also requested a breakdown of the repair along with photo graphs. I took the photographs and quote to a few independent garage and asked for rough estimate. I contacted Watchdog and Radio 4.

The result was they refunded £500. The damage was estimated by them at £603 the quotes I got from garages were between £50 and a £100 using paintless dent removal.

Keep perusing this, we have to make a stand against fraudulent business practice such as this.

Yes Den 15 this strikingly similar to my experience, it's daylight robbery. What is equally as shocking is that I received the self same response from enterpise and although it looks as if they are working toward resolution to anyone perusing this site, it will not get you anywhere. I agree with you when you say that it must me part of their staff training policy as you and I are opposite ends of the country. I think they are asking for details of the branch etc in order to congratulate them and give them a pat on the back!

Copy and pasting the same message stinks of unrofessionalism, you'd think they'd have atleast a bank of replies they could use.

Same as you, i bet the girl, who went straight to the dent, will have got a pat on the back for a job well done.

I won't give in though, i'll continue to shout about this, there are a number of consumer affair programmes that i have details for redy to send if i don't get a satisfactory response.

“Mislead”

After a not at fault accident when my Honda Jazz was written off I was contacted three days later to say the courtesy car was ready. I picked the car up a couple days later. it was a Vauxhall an awuful car I wouldn't buy one. I had no idea how it had been organized and was told on pick-up that the cost would be taken care of by the 3rd Party insurers. “Poor quality and poor selection of cars.”

I was offered enterprise rental car by my insurer ( who only deal with enterprise for replacement car apparently) after my car went for repair following a not at fault accident. Was given a hatch back as a replacement for my crossover saying that is the equivalent category according to enterprise. The car they offered appeared to be bare bones in regard to accessories( could not even play music) tried to get this changed and staff who answered the phone does not seem to have knowledge… Read Full Review
