My work required me to to work two hours from my rental location so, I always called over the phone and made my extensions or paid at another location closer to work. “loaned a car thru my insurance.it will put you off for...”

“Xmas hire”

“Not very good customer service”

We hire cars all over Europe and UK on a weekly basis, have to say never a problem on the Continent but we have just had our worst service at the Dorchester branch. They were not very friendly and would not take my husbands card as I was named driver. Never had this problem with Enterprise before. “Don't trust them”

I left a 50 pound deposit when I hired a car but when I checked my statement they had not refunded it 6 weeks later. After checking they said this was a clerical error and the amount would be refunded shortly. It's very concerning when companies focus on getting payment off you but don't care to make sure they pay back your deposit. “What to charge me £570 for a "10 inch scratch"”

I have been using Enterprise Rent A Car exclusively for car hire in the UK from 1999. I was completely sold on them after I had a motorway accident and their UK CEO (I forgot his name, but he was an American guy) contacted me to say that he was very sorry to hear about my accident and he had arranged for me to hire another car **free of charge** for a weekend! “Why am I being asked to pay £100.... 6 months later ..”

In April I had to take my family to a wedding in Birmingham, decided to rent a vehicle from enterprise who gave me cracking deal, I booked well in advance to ensure availabilty and recieved confirmation that all would be ok.. I was very disappointed with the service I recieved at Hartlepool enterprise car hire, first there was no car there for me when I arrived at the allocated time, the car that was meant to be for me was not even due to return that day so the girl on reception had to ring another staff member who was out driving the one and only car available for rental. I hired a Polo in Cork from 16.10.12 to 23.10.12. On return it was noticed that the rear bumper was cracked, as we decided not to take additional DW,(BIG MISTAKE - but we were on a tight budget) we paid the additional excess to a total of 1200 EURO. “Enterprise Car Renal = Biggest rip off”

Biggest rip-off, they charged me extra 2 days (that’s £54) because the local office was closed over the weekend and couldn't return the car even though I had finished with the car. “Loyalty.....what loyalty?!?”

I have an account with Enterprise and have used there services about 5-6 times in the last two months alone and my work is becoming more demanding which means that I'll be on the road a lot more often in 2013.....but do Enterprise care about customer loyalty or customer service....NO. I was given a complimentary car from the Enterprise branch in Hawthorn, Cardiff when someone wrote my vehicle off in a car park. “Simply the worst car rental experience”

My car broke down and as part of the recovery service by BMW, I was offered a rental car from Enterprise. In hindsight, I wish I had just walked. The guy from BMW said that Enterprise would be in touch in the next 10 mins and sort something out within the next 2 hours. I feel obliged to add that since posting this, I did email the UK MD ,explaining my plight and was very promptly contacted by Enterprise who were very interested in my story. I explained in more detail, they apologised and promised to investigate further. I am really pleased with this, and think that despite my not so good experience, at least the senior management were willing to listen, apologise and vow to get to the bottom of it. Hopefully they will go some way in eradicating some of the poor experiences people have. Thankyou Enterprise for the response I got.

I hired a car from enterprise in the Sheffield branch end of august 2012. Took the family for a holiday in wales, the staff at the branch were amazing. They came to pick me up in the morning as a complimentary service, the rental procedure although long went through smoothly. I brought the car back and got my deposit as well. “Worst Customer Service In History”

I Hired A Car From Enterprise Car Rental In West Croydon For 31 Days With Absolutely No Discount. At The Time Of Hire The Attendant Put In Petrol Which Was Less Than A Quarter But Stated In The Contract That It Was A Quarter. When I Drove The Car, I Realized He Had Scammed Me. “Scam & aweful customer service”

I rented a car from eastleigh branch for a week. Then for the second week I asked for discount they said we give discount for the third week. But they charged me full price for the third week. “Check the tyres”

We hired a car from Manchester Airport and thoroughly checked for scratches etc ensuring they were recorded on the hire document. On returning the car the Enterprise guy pointed out a small metal object in one tyre, this appeared to be a nail. We were duly billed £93 for a new tyre. Be warned, therefore, that you should insist on fully inspecting the tyres before declaring you are happy with them. I have just had exactly the same thing happen to me...my hire car arrived at 1820 at night, approx 7 hours after requesting it...the lady delivering took me round the car in the pitch black with a torch to look for scratches, bumps, dents...I pointed out the alloys were badly kerbed which she acknowledged...I drove a total of 20-odd miles in the 3 days I had it, dropped it back off at the BMW dealership where my car has been repaired...Enterprise call the next day to say I there is a chunk out of a tyre and they are taking the £250 excess off my card....I told them categorically it wasn't me and not to take anything off at which point they said 'bye' and hung up...I have driven it for less than an hour and would know if I had kerbed it...they won't accept it and say I signed a piece of paper saying nothing is wrong with it and now there is...to put it mildly, I am not happy...the whole experience has been shocking...the branch manager is simply rude (even before the car arrived)...I will be getting in touch with Enterprise at a higher level to point all this out...

“Rip-off”

I rented a cabrio for 24.30 hours. De total cost where USD 200,-. This was in part because the rental guy said I was obliged to get a DMW for USD 30 a day (as a foreigner I didn't know this was optional). And in part because they only had 24 hour rates. Hired a car from their Hammersmith branch on 03/09/2012. Absolutely no problems there, staff very friendly so seemed like it was a good company to go to. Was given their rental agreement which did indicate that there was some minor damage to the car (I couldn't really see it as i didnt really look hard enough and wasn't really that bothered as I needed to get going) Paid a £50 deposit which I was told that as long as there was no damage to the car, I would receive it back. When I had taken out the vehicle it was because my own car was getting fixed at the a certain car garage in Richmond.

I was informed by the employee (who is unfortunately no longer with the company) that when my car is fixed, I could just take the hire vehicle to the Car garage and swop it over with my own car, without the need to inform enterprise.

Contacted enterprise just now and once the employee looked at his notes he couldn't tell me why I had been invoiced as I had even received my deposit back.

He put me through to damage recovery.

This is where it gets REALLY bad!!

The lady I spoke to at damage recover said that it is in my rental agreement that I am liable for any damage until enterprise has the vehicle back (covering up for the inspection being done 11 days after it was returned)

I explained that the enterprise employee had not explained this to me and as far as I was concerned the vehicle had been returned once I took it to the Car garage.

The response was "do you always sign things without reading the small print"

???????????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I said that I'm not paying as I'm not responsible for any damage, I had returned the vehicle in the same condition and as I had been instructed to.

Was told that this would be passed to debt recovery.

So now I've even got bailiffs after me.

All because I went to enterprise.

I have been contacted by care at enterprise so will give them all info and see what they say.

Will keep you posted.
