Have had the phone for just over a week and have decided to go back to a Nokia. The D500 is a very nice phone but I prefer the Nokia as it is so much easier to use the functions. This phone has one MAJOR DRAWBACK! It's the slide mechanism.
I'm not going to comment on the D500's features, they're superb. But the slide mechanism (whilst being a superb mechanical design) is flawed for the following reason.

The Tri-Band SGH-D500 is a gem of a phone, BUT like all gems it has its flaws. On the plus side the phone is very attractive and feels good in your hand. Got a Samsung D500 phone 6 days ago and simply have been blown away with it. The slider function is outstanding with a soft smooth action, and the new black colour is fantastic when the screen is on. It makes a great contrast because the quality of the screen colours has to be seen in real life.
