I was quite taken with the concept and decided to try it out. As stated my first go was uneventful. I then had a second go. Four pillows £7.99 easy enough? No. I received a call to confirm my order then the operator started a spiel about "free offers" I explained I wasn't interested but to no avail her voice didn't stop so I politely told her I had to go and hung up. I received a further call 2 hours later to say there had been a problem with my order, it further transpired that the first operator had noted on my record that I had terminated the call. So my conclusion is that yes the overall concept is ok and if the reassurance given on TV that your order could not be easier and that you would not be subjected to further sales pitches by phone was true then everyone would be happy. Buyer beware. Oh and I did try to e-mail my concerns to them but received a message saying that the site I was trying to access may have some problems.

bid-up.tv is poor! There are plenty more shopping channels with a more reliable customer service. I bought a product in December and arranged a collection to return it. 3 appts made, nobody turned up. Collected on 4th occasion on 18th January 2007. As of today I have still not received my refund. Telephoned numerous times. Once told refund had been processed whilst I was on telephone (lie), another time spoke to manager who said he'd contact me with 5 hrs (no contact) and last week assured that refund had been issued via manager. Cannot find telephone number for head office in UK. Beware if you need to return item as many problems may occur. Not worth the hassle

good overall.......they must sub contract their delivery drivers......I wasn't even left a tracking number when my orders couldn't be delivered even though I had proposed a 'safe place' for that eventuality. Consequently goods to the value of some considerable sum are wandering somewhere out there...........where , I've no idea. I was not at home after being rushed to hospital... nice to come home to... NOT!

Beware of price comparisons with the internet.

As an example about a week ago either price-drop or bid-tv offered a 10 DVD set of "Prime Suspect" and they stated that they had checked on the Woolworth site and it could be bought for £89.99 (true, I've just checked) with free delivery. They started the auction at £40.00 and eventually they were all sold for £34.99. While the auction was in progress, I checked on Amazon.co.uk and the set cost £34.99 with free delivery and if I really want to save some money I should go to DVD.co.uk where it would cost £27.95 again with free delivery.

So, let's compare the full cost of buying from these channels against Amazon. Bid-TV would cost £34.99 for the DVDs, plus £7.99 delivery charge and £1.50 just for ordering the item - a total of £44.48. Amazon would charge £34.99 for the DVDs, plus £0.00 delivery charge and £0.00 just for ordering the item - a total of £34.99.

A price difference of almost £10. If I wanted to save another £7.00, I could go to DVD.co.uk. Beware of their claims of beating the Internet.

The price of this set varied from £27.95 to £102.50, why did they choose the third most expensive internet supplier to compare themselves with?

Bid and won an Item on 28th Dec 2007. Name as a winning bidder appeared on TV screen. No call back for payment.
When contacted they deny receiving bid. Have proof now that call made and accepted. Customer service contacted many times still waiting an answer nearly 7 weeks later. Have written to sit-up channels. No response from them also. It must be company policy.

Just started to use bid up tv and it brilliant. Goods ordered were received before the 7 day deadline. Excellent. All I can say is I will never buy from stores again you save so much money buying from these fantastic shopping channels.

If it wasn't for the phone costs and postage I would buy a lot more. I only ever returned one item that was sent me as wrong goods. Customer service is expensive to call and although they paid the item value back to my credit card, I still ended up paying to return goods I never ordered in the first place. They return the item price but you still loose the £7.99 postage so not worth returning anything best advice is make sure it is something you really want and at a cheap price or go out shopping yourself and be safe.

Myself and my hubby have ordered from bid-up many a time, and so has hubby's grandad and mum.. We have never had any problems to date.

You see the item on telly, you phone the number on the screen, follow the instructions and within a short while one of the customer service advisers call you back and take all your details. After ordering a few times, if you'd rather not keep having to go over your payment details, etc., you can choose a password that they will ask you each time and another security question. Tey then charge it to the card you last made payment with. Easy Peasy!

The item arrives usually within 7 days. Our orders have usually been with us in 2-3 days, which I think has been great.

I'd therefore encourage anyone to use them!

Bid-up.tv have very poor customer service. I was advised that I could order and then pay 3 days later, but received 20 calls in 2 days from them. I spoke to a team leader who assured me this would not happen again but the next day same thing. I spoke with another team leader after being hung up on by a rep and she said that she cannot stop me being harassed by their 'dialler' system. I had to cancel my order and request that my details be removed!!! I would not rate them at all and suggest people go to a market for cheap prices as customer service is important and this company have not learnt that yet!! Would rate it as 5 stars in the poor category!!!

We ordered goods from bid-up. TV which came within a week, they were smashed. I rang them to send goods back which they collected months later, then they told us we had to re order once our last payment was sent back to us, but then they may have sold out anyway, so we said this was not fair after a long phone call they allowed us to stick with same order and have goods sent out to us.
The goods came weeks later and were totally wrong goods to what we ordered, we rang to complain but no one was around in higher station to talk to us.
We got the goods collected again months later, the goods were over thirty pounds, we still have not had our money back even though they have the goods we have emailed them and rang them and nothing so they have their goods back we never got our order but they took our money.
